Vw polo 51reg control panel lighting

The lighting which show up the heating and ventilation rotary nobs was intermitant & has now turned off completely. I guess its just a loose connection. I have taken the screws out but i cannot fully remove the panel to check the connection.

I have exactly this problem on my VW Golf.?

  • char_A Feb 21, 2009

i consulted a haynes manual and it is even easier. It is simply pulling out the smallest middle nob with 1-4 for fan speed. It is really stiff (used pliers). The bulb is there. replaced it and it works perfectly. - I have a vw polo . i dont know if it is the same on the golf.

-used a dry cloth between pliers and switch to avoid marks/scratches.

Take it to a mechanic. It sounds like your Airbag Control Module is bad. Do not attempt to fix it yourself, airbag systems are dangerous.

The winscreen wipers on my vw polo (51 reg) have started coming on randomly. They then don't turn off until they are good and ready. Embarassing to say the least. What is the likely fault and is it costly?

when you use the washer function of the control arm you also turn on the intermitant wiper function, you need to quickly press the washer setting to switch it off.(bloody clever these VW designers.....)

The engine oil in my VW polo (51reg) keeps running out and i have to keep topping it up. dont think there are any obious holes anywhere - as it doesnt leave oil on the drive. does anyone know what else it...

It sounds like its burning to much oil. May be time for for a valve job which is pretty costly try pouring a bottle of LUCAS oil stabilizer in your engine and see if that helps
