Removal of rear cup holders on 08 grand cherokee overland

The rear cup holders are very poorly positioned - when in the open position it is easy to step on them and break them - which I have done. I have the replacement part but I cannot remove the broken exisitng part that is still in place. The actual cup holders are in place - the bottom portion that folds down is broken. How do i remove and install the units?

thx

SOURCE: removal of dash and factory stereo

This is an easy fix. Use a flat head screwdriver andpry out the center stack where the heating and air controls are. this will just pop out. From there there are a few screws to to remove to get the cover off around the stereo.

SOURCE: remove the camshaft position sensor from my 1999 jeepcherokee

The Camshaft Position Sensor (CMP) on the 4.7L V - 8 engine is bolted to the front side of the right cylinder head. Disconnect the sensors connector. Take out the bolt that holds the sensor in place. Lightly pry out the sensor being careful not to break it. Clean out the hole and install the new sensor( put a little oil on the new sensors o-ring to help installation).

What does this symbol mean? I have a 2007 overland grand Cherokee.

that is the symbol for electronic throttle body, you will require a scan, and live data with graphing to determine which part of the system is defective.. possiblities are throttle body, accelerator pedal or throttle position sensor, or broken wire/poor connection, bad pcm..

How do you remove a rear cupholder tray in a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

Hello
In order to remove the rear passenger cup holder you must remove the console from the car and turn it over to gain access to the retainers that hold the cup holder into the console. If you go to the page at the web link below you will find detailed instructions with pictures (click on the pictures to enlarge them) on how to remove the console assembly from the floor.

2003 grand cherokee v-8 ( overland) engine stops at low speed and idle. Acts like it is running out of gas. will restart and run and stop again.

I would replace both your cam position and crank position sensors. one is probably bad with an intermitant short. but they are both cheap. $50 for both from rockauto.com. Forget about the fuel filter, you are good there. You should be able to find instructions on replacement at autozone.com

Shift indicator light 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee

There are two parts to it, a voltage resistor, and the EL panel itself.

You need to remove the console first. There are 2 screws under the front rubber pad, two under the cup holder, two in the bin. Remove those six first, take the storage bin out, then slide the rear cupholder out, remove the two screws under the cup holder, and one in front of it.

There are a total of 6 flat screws, and 3 self tapping screws you have removed.

Put the parking brake on, shift the tranny to N, and the transfer case to the middle position if equipped.

Remove the entire console. Slide the shifter beezel as far up vertically as you can. There are 4 clips you ned to remove to do it.
You will see a blue and black wire running into the back. Follow those wires to the resistor. You will see a transparent EL panel attatched to the resistor by two clips.

Usually, one or both of these clips has come loose, causing the light to work intermittantly. Clip them back on, and turn on the headlights to confirm that the light works correctly now.

Re-install everything in the opposite order.
