Question about 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche
My mechanic told me if i got a remote that this would take care of the symbol on the dash but it didn't any suggestions?
It is definitely an immobiliser/car security problem. Take it to the dealer or specialist.

SOURCE: I have a 2006 Chevy
check the lock side of the switch, its not connecting, remove the switch and test it, if the doors will unlock its letting you know the plungers are working, and that to lock its not getting any power to reverse the action, ( check the individual doors, if they work both ways,, then its the drivers door switch that's faulty
