Fuel pumps are good. No gas to the plugs. I think I need to bleed the injectors, but how?

Put new fuel pump in 1987 volvo station wagon thats what was leaking I started to take car to work yesterday lights went dim car died found loose wire on alternater now fuel pump wont work anymore car wont...

Does it crank but not fire?
I would do the cheap things first - ohm out the plug wires, check the plugs, then the cap/rotor.

The fuel pump relay (the one behind the glove box) is known to go bad - I removed mine and reflowed the solder joints and mine never failed again - or you can replace that.

If your car is dead, check the negative cable to the battery that it's not corroded on either end.

1984 240 gl keeps breaking down like its running out of petrol and then starts up again. like a fuel blockage. cant work it out

Have you tried replacing the fuel pump relay? That is a very common problem on 240s. The fuel pump relay is under the dash, above your passenger's feet on later 240s. So far as I know it was in the same spot on earlier 240s like yours.

Cranking problems

New battery, new rotor and new distributor cap and a couple of vacum hoses and the flame trap all replaced and for fairly cheap (execpt the battery). It did the trick.

1984 DL in tank fuel pump.

Check the fuses, I think power to the tank pump is supplied via a fuse. The pump will have power all the time!

1984 Volvo 240 DL Wagon not Starting and dying

In my 86 volvo this is where a relay was under the glove box area i believe it was the fuel pump relay. In my vehicle i washed the car and found it did not start afterwards after many hours of troubleshooting i found this relay was full of water causing my problem, they hang it upside down so water can enter easily, i took mine apart and cleaned the contacts with sandpaper, worked fine afterwards.

1984 volvo 240 gl wagon engine failure

The clicking you hear is probably the fuel relay. You should pull it and have it tested. If you have time to wait for delivery, order a new one if the old one is bad from They are much cheaper than the dealer, even with shipping charges. Or, go to to a pick and pull yard and find one that will work. To get to the fuel relay, pull the glove box and follow the noise.
