Can not access my 1990 Jaguar soveriegn due to flat battery

I have recently taken home a 1990 Jaguar Sovereign from a late uncles shed where it sat for years, I put a booster pack onto the battery and it fired into life and ran well. However after switching off and closing the bonnet I locked the car with the key and can not now open it due to the flat battery. How can I gain access without damaging it?

you would think so! However the lock is an electric switch as opposed to a traditional lock. However I have been advised to jack it up and clamp a jump lead (positive) onto the starter motor and earth it to the block, this should give the power to open it.

I have aJaguar X300 series late 1996 xj 4L soveriegn and the button on the boot lid doesnt open it .The fob will open it but not the button.

Sounds like you have a faulty button switch or bad wiring, since the solenoid and micro switch seem to be working ok with the fob. Keep in mind, There is no manual release switch for these.
I hope this helps.

With the car in key position 2, the position right before you turn it to start, hit the VCM button on the right trip meter, you will get a code.

I need to replace the antenna grommet. How do I remove the antenna? I have a 1990 Jaguar XJ6 Soveriegn

Use a 13mm (possible 14mm) open ended wrench on the chrome ball attached to the body with a black seal around it. The wrench will only fit on one way. After you unscrew it slide it up over the antenna. You may have to loosen the antenna motor on the right hand side behind the trim (a couple of 8mm bolts if I recall) and then you can cleanly remove the grommet and replace with a new one. Reverese the removal procedure to reinstall.

Good Luck.

Need to replace fuel pump on a jaguar xj6 soveriegn

It is under the car at passenger/driver side. Accessible from underneath and by removing the left rear tire. (Jack it up and its much easier).
2 small nuts hold it in place in its collar. Awkward nut not too difficult....
