This year model is notorious for fuel related probs...check the remainder of the fuel system, injectors, and the fuel pressure regulator also verify that the fuel pump is actually running and getting the correct amount of power to the pump itself..... it may not be bad just not getting enough power

My 93 Altima will not start. I did the self diagnostic and got code 55?? It started a few weeks ago ran great for the weekend, got it to work and would not crank to go home.

Josh, Code 55 for your Altima simply means no faults were found/no malfunction. Do you mean car would not crank(engine not turning over) or did you mean engine will crank, but not start. I will post troubleshooting links to both conditions below. If not comfortable, have a good Technician look at it, diagnose and estimate repair.

You most likely have a bad fuel pump. Very common symptoms your describing, If your handy try squirting some brake cleaner into the throttle body when this happens. If it starts you now know what to do. Also be sure the battery terminals are clean. Voltage drops can cause a fuel pump not to run or run ineffeciently.
