Does your Grand Marquis have head lamps with auto lamps ? Which fuse keeps blowing ? Could be a shorted LCM - lighting control module ?

Lighting Control Module (LCM)
The LCM eliminates the electronic interference and heat associated with the thermoelectric devices used previously. The LCM is a microprocessor-based module that controls several vehicle subsystems. It responds to electrical input signals from various switches, sensors, and external modules..

2001 grand marquis #27 fuse blows intermitantly and headlights go out

Well #27 is one of the main fuses for the lamp control module which controls all of the lights on the car.
So it could be any of the lights, sockets, or wiring. You may need a shop manual to get the wiring diagrams to trace the problem.
If the problem only happens with the headlights on, my guess would be one of the headlights or the dimmer switch is getting too hot.
A bad ground could also cause it by having too much resistance for the circuit.

Lcm 2004 grand marquis

the lcm is just right of the steering wheel column and left of and below the radio. you have to remove a plastic cowling under the steering column that is attached by two plastic push pins on either side of the column. the cowling slides out and the lcm is exposed. it's a black box a bit bigger than the size of a brick and has three wire harnesses plugged into it. the lcm is held in a metal cage bracket with two hex head screws. After removing the screws, the lcm can be pushed up slightly and out of the cage toward the front of the fire wall. it's easier to detach the harnesses after the lcm is out of the cage.

Lights on 2000 Mercury Grand marquis will suddenly go out while

please rate as solved if this fixes your issue. Let me know too.

I believe you have a bad LCM, Lighting Control Module. Or, the connectors to it have corrosion maybe. The module is above the brake pedal. It is very expensive. You can buy one at discount from tascafordparts.com. Sometimes, ebay has one too. But, you need one for your year car. Match the part number on your LCM.

Here's how to get it out.

(I replaced one without doing any programming, so I don't think this applies).

Turn signal don't work or the flashers?

If you still have flasher problems, I read on Google to spray WD-40 down in and around the hazzard flasher button, then press it up and down several times...and BINGO...all flashers and signals worked again....just had some dirt and dust in the wiring....

Headlights cut out after being on 10 to 15 minutes

I had the same exact problem. I found that I could make the lights come on by pushing on the top connector on the front side of the lighting control module (LCM). I pulled the connector off, cleaned it and put it back together with some dielectric grease. Only time will tell if I fixed it. On my car, it would only have problems after the headlights had been on for about 3 hours; kind of hard to re-create.
