Heck all your fuses. Sorry to tell you this, but you may have snuffed out your computer-that can happen. Check all fuses, see if check engine light comes on when key is turned to on Good luck.

SOURCE: I HAVE BLOWN A FUSE

If you examine each fuse in turn you should be able to see which one has blown.

If you cannot find which one, then you could replace them all!

Welcome to fixya!

This is a hard question to answer. The reason why is if the battery has been replaced they could have put it in with the terminals reversed. The easiest way for you to find witch one is closest to the firewall is to look on the battery. On the battery the terminals are stamped with a + and a - sign. The + sing is the positive and the - is negative post.

Good Luck

REPLACE BATTERY CABLES THE POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE COULD BE SHORTING TO GROUND.REPLACE STARTER SOLENOID IF NOT BEEN REPLACED.BESURE TO PLACE BACK FLEXIBLE CONDUIT THAT GOES AROUND POSITIVE BATTERY KEEP FROM SHORTING TO GROUND. LAST TIME I SEEN BATTERY CABLES OVER HEAT WAS EITHER STARTER AND SOLENOID SHORTING OUT OR VERY LOOSE BATTERY CABLES CONNECTIONS. REPLACE BATTERY CABLES IF THEY ARE MELTED HAVE STARTER CHECKED OUT YOU COULD HAVE FAULTY STARTER STILL.

Why my Honda horn keep beeping when connecting negative battery terminal

DOUBLE CHECK that you have connected the battery the right way and haven't put the positive on the negative. This is sometimes a warning that you have the terminals the wrong way round. If the battery is fitted correctly check the fuses.

CHECK THE MARKINGS ON THE BATTERY + & - ARE GOING TO THE CORRECT TERMINALS

98 chevy lumina wont start replaced starter and VATS relay only get click no crank what next?

Hey Todd how's it going ? How's the battery ? battery connections ? Are there any lights lit on the dash , security , check engine ? Because your getting a clicking there is nothing wrong with the theft deterrent relay ! Take a volt meter on the 20 volt scale an put negative lead at the negative battery post , then take your positive lead an put it on s terminal small wire on the starter solenoid an have someone turn the key to start position , you should see battery voltage . If you see battery voltage there is nothing wrong with the theft deterrent relay ! or the crank circuit. You need to do a voltage drop test on the starting system ! I'm thinking possible battery cable ! Starter Voltage Drop . you do know that you replaced a starter for no good reason !

How do you change the battery

Disconnect negative side of battery first (to avoid accidental touching of wrench to ground - although battery may be dead) then positive side. There should be a rubber wedge at the bottom of the battery with a bolt going through the center. This will need to be removed so the battery can be lifted out. Reinstall in the reverse order - being sure to put the ground cable (negative) side of the battery on last for the reason previously mentioned. The positive of the battery will be marked with a + the negative side with a - Also the positive cable should be red and the negative black. This may not apply if some one put the wrong cables in place so be sure, before removing cables, to observe their orientation.

I change my battery post now I don't know where they go on the - or + side can you help me out

Hello. Yes. the black wire is the ground wire. It goes from the frame to the negative post of the battery. The red wire is the hot wire and it goes to the positive post.

I own a MY99 Subaru Impreza WRX Limited edition I have an immobiliser installed( auto watch) I need to jump start the car how do I do that!

u need another vehicle there and a set of jump leads,
connect the negative up from the battery of one car to the negative of the other car and do the same with the positive.
the positive is the one with the cross of the red wires, be very careful not to put them on the wrong way round, then simply start the other car up and leave it for around 5 minuates then try 2 start your vehicle dont worry if you get a little spark when connecting the jump leads its perficaly normal.
hope this advice helps.

How do I get my battery to recharge?

two things.

first,
you can remove your battery and have it charge somewhere else if you dont have a home charger or if you have a home charger, you can just hook up the red cable to the positive terminal of the battery and the black cable to the negative terminal.

second,
if you have a jumper cable, these cables have a pair of black and red alligator clips, use them to connect another car's battery in parallel to yours.

use a pair in your battery, put the red one in your positive terminal and put the black one in the negative terminal. be careful that the other pair on the other end dose not touch with each other. somebody should be holding them apart.

then o the other end where there is a good battery, start the car , now put the black clip to the negative terminal of the battery and then put the red clip to the positive terminal.
there should be a spark as you put the last red clip so be careful.

let it be for about 15-20 mins. you can rev up the running cars from time to time.

then after 2- min, you can start your car.

you will only fry your computer if there is a wrong lead on a wrong terminal so be very careful in choosing which terminal is positive and which is negative.

the positive terminal is marked with a plus sign "+ "
the negative terminal is marked with a minus sign " - "

tnx 4 using fixya,
