Daytime Running Lights on 07 Volkswagen Rabbit 2.5

I asked my VW friend. He said that bulb was only intended to keep the headlight area slightly lit up in the event the main light burnt out.
Some sort of safety feature.
He also said DRL's were not an option on his 2009 rabbit

Left hand high beam headlight not working on 2003 Chevy S 10

Suggest obtain a good volt/ohm meter and trace out your circuits.
Sounds like you have a broken wire or loose connection.
Be sure to check ground wire connections too.
If you get very frustrated you could cheat and simply run a jumper from the good high beam over to the dud.
Be sure to disconnect the old circuit and attach a waterproof tag explaining what you did.

2002 Dodge Caravan headlamps: one works on dim the other works on high beam but not together. Also only one daytime running lamp.

Your van has dual diligent headlamp bulbs, that means each headlight has one bulb that serves as high beam and low beam. What has most likely happened is on one side the low beam filament has burnt out, and on the other side the high beam filiment has burnt out. The daytime running lights are just the high beam filament running on reduced power, so if the high beam doesn't work on one side, that same side will have no daytime running light. Replace both headlamp bulbs with matching, good quality bulbs.

Headlights do not turn on in the low beam position. replaced the dimmer switch. NO CHANGE.

The bulbs may be 1/2 burnt out. Carefully take one bulb out (don't touch the glass or get any oil/dirt on it) and see if one of the 2 elements is burnt out (broken wire)
If you have daytime running lights, the module may have burned out or the relay may be bad.

No headlights on vw passat sidelights on. main beam works. all fuses and bulbs are fine

Relay 163 behind the fuse panel may be defective or has been removed to disable daytime running lights.

Are you sure it's just a headlight? If it is, you need to take off the rubber cap that's behind the headlight. You can access this from under the hood. Once the thick black rubber cap is pulled off, you'll have access to the back of the light, you need to push it down and out to get it loose. Don't pull too hard as it's wired in to the headlight harness so it's only got a few inches of slack. Once it's out, pull out the light and put the new one in. Try your highbeam first, if that works, then don't bother changing the light. I thought my headlight was out, went through the trouble of changing it, and turns out the bulb was fine. I'm taking it to the shop tomorrow, but I think it may be the daytime running module has burnt out. So let me know what you do.
