The diiference in the diameter of the tire is only one inch, they are not any wider, and that is the issue that causes rubbing, so u will be just fine, verified this from a tire fitment web site i use.

There should be a sticker on the vehicle when you open the door which would state the maximum size tire to use.

www.tirerack.com may have a chart as well.

Keep in mind when you change to a different size tire it will effect the speedometer's reading.

What is the difference between tire size 255/70 and 265/70

Hello Projocs03,

Tires are typically measured tire width (sidewall)/tire ride height/wheel size. The differences of the two tire sizes you published are .4 of an inch difference in width/sidewall. And about .55 in over all diameter which would impact you revs per rotation. Depending on your wheel size.

Attached is a comparison of the two given the variable of 17" rim.

I added the above link so you can research further or change any variables you need to know. However, the most important thing to understand is the impact of your speedometer. Different sizes will have different impacts. For example going to a bigger tire will show a slower speed on your spedo that your traveling.

Good luck

Going to buy a 2003 mazda mpv but there is no spare do they come standard with a spacesaver or a proper 15in spare wheel and tyre

FACTORY SPARE TIRE IN TRUNK HAS LARGER RIM. THE RIM IS 2 INCH BIGGER IN DIAMETER TIRE HEIGHT AND RIM WILL GIVE CAR CORRECT WHEEL HEIGHT.IF YOU DONT HAVE FACTORY SPARE TIRE.YOU CAN BUY SAME SIZE RIM THAT YOU HAVE ON YOUR VAN AT SALVAGE YARD PUT USE TIRE ON RIM OR GO TO DEALERSHIP THEY CAN GET YOU A FACTORY SPARE TIRE.

Factoy tire size

The factory size is P185/65R14.
I have a Honda Civic and i cold Wisconsin winter use a set of Blizzak winter tires P185/65R14 on steel rims.
If ambient temperature warms up above 45F degree, I use a set of tires P205/45R16 Falken Ziex Ze-912, mounted on 16 inches aluminum rims.
Using all season tires is a good compromise too.

My van is vibrating when I drive. I accidently hopped a curb. I think its a wheel bearing any clue?

Check the tire for out-of - round,it may have a belt broke in the tire,or a bent rim, this is most likely the problem, one,or the other. If this was at all helpful, please rate, thank you.

What size alloys. Ford Calypso 1997

Yes. The last number on a tire size is the diameter of the rim, when it changes so too must the tire. The bigger the tire the more they cost.
You also have to pay attention to the width of the rim, side to side. Somes tires need a wider rim than others, so ask when you are buying the rims what width they need tires to be because wider tires cost more too. Hope this helps.

My 1997 Plymouth Voyager V6 3.0 won't stay running

Sounds like you need a new fuel filter or a new fuel pump.
Replace the fuel filter first and see if that resolves the problem.
If not than it is the fuel pump.
To check to see if it is a fuel related issues you can look on the fuel rail that is on the top of the engine and connects to the injectors. There is a plastic cap on the pressure check vavle (looks like the air valve on a bicycle tire) unscrew the cap and press the valve stem inside. If gas shoots out with good pressure than it is not a fuel problem..if it trickles out...it is.
Do this after trying to start the van a few times..but without the van running..wear eye protection.

Tire Wear

Is the wear spot on the inside treads or on the inside tire wall? Since you put on new/larger rims I would say it is either improper tire inflation or your ball joints are either dying on you or they aren't setup right for that size tire/rim. Also, new rims can throw off your speedo as well.
