How do you install a drivers side mirror on 2012 chevy malibu

Tools you will need are a narrow flat head screw driver, narrow pry bar, needle nose pliers, a hex-key set, and a socket wrench to match the nuts on the mirror. Start by finding an oval-shaped tab right behind the handle bar on the door. Using the screwdriver, go from underneath and pop out that tab. Use your hex-key to unscrew the screws. Repeat that process with the control tab. With this, I suggest using a shop rag to keep from scratching or damaging the panel. Once you get this tab off, disconnect the signal cables from the door lock and the window controls. Next you need to pop off the covering around the door latch handle.

Now that you have this done, it's time to take off the door panel. Using the pliers, pull off the two circular tabs along the door jam. Now take your pry bar, starting from the bottom next to the door hinges, pop off the door panel. You will hear snaps, that's a good thing. Once you have all the snaps undone, slide the panel up and out. You'll have to be cautious around the locking lever.

Now you have a view of the mirror cover. Slide it up over the tabs that are securing it to the door. Now take your socket wrench, get rid of the other bolts. When you have all the bolts removed, slide the mirror out.

You have successfully removed the old mirror! Now it's time to put in the new mirror. We are going to start by inserting the mirror in the appropriate holes and tightening them down. You can't tighten them too much, just don't strip the nut. That simple. You now have your new mirror installed. To close up, just go in reverse through the steps I just led you through. Good job!
Hope this helps.

2003 tahoe driver door window. how do i take door panel off

remove lock slide with a small screwdriver it pops out. should be a screw behind it (7mm) then there is another screw i believe under the grab handle towards back of it you will see a hole about size of your pinky finger another 7mm up in there. some have a plastic cap at front of panel about quarter/nickel size pop this off and will be a torx bit screw under it. also the top cover that hides the mirror bolts it pops off just clipped on when you have screws lout panel lifts up and then off and you can access the wires at switch to disconnect.

Power switch drivers door

Hi

You will have to remove the inside door panel in order to remove the switch assembly. There are 9 or 10 scews to take out and then the door panel will pop off the door and then lift the panel upward to clear glass channel. Turning the panel over, you can now gain excess to the screws holding the switch to the panel.

Hope this helps, thanks for using FixYa.

How to change power window motor for a 1999 oldsmobile silhoutte

Replacing the Window Motor
Estimated time: 2 hours at best, 4-6 hours realistic

0) Use duct tape to secure the window to the top of the door frame (I used three pieces)

1) Remove the door panel
a) Remove the panel around the door handle (small panel) by pulling backwards slightly, then popping out. The door lock comes off by pulling out on it (with force). Then lift the panel up and around the door handle.
b) Remove the three screws (one on the far left, one on the bottom, and one behind the panel you just removed.
c) Pull out the power window/lock mechanism (if equipped) by pulling slightly down and out, then detach the wires.
d) Remove the small panel opposite the side view mirror. This is accomplished by pulling back slightly, then pulling out.
e) Pop the door panel off it's hinges.
f) Remove the bracket behind where the handle was.

2) Remove the weather proof plastic wrap.
a) Just start at the top and pull down carefully removing the wrap from the door, being careful not to rip/tear it.

2.5) Remove the wire connection from the top of the motor (found at the top right of the door frame).

3) Remove the four rivets attached to the motor and regulator.
a) There are many ways to remove rivets, I punched out the middle with a drill bit the size of the inside hole on the rivet, then used a dremel to cut the rivet in half, and used a hammer/screwdriver to bust off the outside and punch the rivet through.

4) Remove the regulator/motor
a) Attaching the bottom slide bar (sash channel) of the regulator are two bolts, remove them (I removed the left first, then right).
b) The top bar of the regulator is attached by two nuts/bolts attached to two small brackets. You must reach inside the door panel and loosen the bolts so that they slide off the brackets. [Be careful to keep one hand on the motor as the regulator/motor will come tumbling down at this point!]
c) You need to jockey the units around but they should all slide out the hole in one piece (regulator/motor)

How do you remove the door panel?

This panel is held in by plastic snaps. After all the screws are ou it pops off not a sliding type. Hopefully your window rolls down it is easier. !st take the plastic cover off of latch mechanism in rear of penal On the seat switch you'll find the top wooden portion pulls off grab from the bottom. then there is a bracket that unscrews and the seat switch wood pops out. next open the armrest and you'll see a plastic cover held in by a small black screw. remove and then remove the big screw behind it, I believe there is also a screw in the front of the map pocket and possibly 2 more in the center. pop out the light at the bottom of the panel and un clip wire harness. Next pop pout the top side view mirror cover. I believe there may be a couple of plastic grommets on grab handle that pop out giving you access to the screws. Next pop off the door panel by grabbing at the bottom and pulling outwards. be carefully because there is a vacuum line attached to the map pocket lid locking mechanism. once panel is loose un clip vac line and electrical and grab handle linkage. you should then be able to remove panel completely. i do not have an sl in front of me so look very carefully for any screws I forgot to mention. This is the best I can do from memory. good luck

There are plastic keepers on the inside of the door panel. You need to pry them out of their holes gently with a thin flat bar from between the panel and the steel door. Some of these may break when removing. That's o.k. You can get replacement clips from just about any major parts supplier and they are cheap. Sounds like the problem is the actuator for the door lock.

Remove rear door panel on06 liberty, ford

There are a couple screws that hold it on. I believe one is in the door handle recess and the other behind a small cover in the door opening lever. After you remove those take a flat head screwdriver and slide it between the metal of the door and the plastic panel starting at the bottom (there should be a spot that sticks out a bit where you can get a screwdriver in). Pry out until you feel a pop (its a good pop), the door panel is held on by what are called Christmas tree plugs that pop in and out. Just work your way around popping them all out and slide the panel up and over the lock pin. Then disconnect the handle linkage and the electrical connectors (dont remember if there are any on the rear doors but the instructions are the same for the front) and set the panel aside. Reverse that to install
