How do you remove the plastic cowling under the dash to get to the blower motor. I have the parts but no one knows how to remove the cover and I'd like not to break it off. Where are the attachments? It's pretty smooth molded over it all.

Re: 1996 GMC 2500 Sierra Blower motor cover Removal
If there are no Bolts or Screws around the Housing, Squeeze the Housing and see it there are not Mounting Slide Tabs for the Cover. I own a 95' Silverado But, Have not changed the Blower Motor in 10 Years. I know that it is Easy to Remove though.

pull the plastic grate cover off the cowl at heater AC outside air intake at the base of the windshield and check to see that the cowl drains are not plugged with leafs or other debris, this is the common cause, if the drains are clear seal around the cowl air intake with automotive silicone caulking.
