Automated Trunk release does not open my accura tl trunk.
The trunk of my 2002 accura tl will not open when I depress the remote trunk release or my inside door trunk release. I have to open it with the cable via the back arm rest access panel. Is there a fuse or something that has to be replaced? Thank you for your input

To prevent accidental opening of the trunk caused by an accidental pressing of the "OPEN TRUNK" button on your keyfob, you can pull the cover that hides the wiring harness on the trunk (you can buy replacement plastic retaining tabs at an auto parts store if you break one) and look for the wiring harness. I cut the wire controlling the electronic trunk solenoid and soldered in momentary pushbutton that goes to the outside of the trunk. To open the trunk, I have to depress the pushbutton on the trunk and then press the "OPEN TRUNK" button on my keyfob. I also soldered in a bypass switch in parallel with the pushbutton in case I want to disable the extra security I get by having a pushbutton. It will cost you about $15 in parts (get a high quality, weather rated pushbutton) and about 3 hours of time.
you could have a problem with the trunk motor not working.check voltages at the motor when using the remote.you could also have a problem with the remote that works the trunk release side of the remote.
My avalon 2002 trunk was not opening. The problem was a little switch in the glove compartment was depressed I puched the switch back in and wala everything was just fine again. A lil black switch in the glove compartment. wish u the best.
