Just silence the alarm and continue to charge the battery... i'm thinking that has a battery back up in case someone attempts to cut the power to steal the car

My 2007 Hundai Sonata battery completely discharged. I recharged the battery with a trickle charger, but when I reconnect the terminals I haven't been able to stop the alarm or start the car.

Stick your key in the ignition and turn to start. That should stop the alarm. However, it sounds like your battery still isn't fully charged. Computer things go haywire when battery voltage is 9.6 volts or less.

Hi Moyerwm, Disconnect the battery for about two minutes and reconnect. If that does not help, have the battery fully charged and then it should be fine. Regards John

Mazda mx5 will not start after flat battery battery now charged but soon as turn the ignition on the alarm goes off and will not start

You need to reset the alarm. If it's a Stock/original alarm, read the Owner's Manual or call a Mazda dealer. If it's not stock, you'll need to ID the alarm and look online for the instructions.

If your keyless remote fob has a Mazda label on it and is the ONLY one you have it's probably stock; if it's not a labeled Mazda, look for another name to find the alarm type.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Sounds like you have an Alarm remote battery problem. You need to change the remote's battery. The remote's battery gets a little bit of charge whenever you leave it for quite some time. A trip to your mechanic might have been long enough to give your remote's battery a little bit of charge that's probably why it works whenever you get to your mechanic's place. But after that, you've used the little bit of charge that the battery has then It will not work anymore after you get home. Try leaving the remote unused for at least an hour or two then try to use it. Im sure it will work for a bit. Just get the remote's battery changed.

I hope this helps. Have a nice day.

I have a M reg Peugeot405 Automatic saloon The

Hi Alan Yes you are right the alarm will go off unless the battery is that flat that it doesn't have enough power to sound the alarm. This is the old catch 22 situation. Have a pair of grips and a 10mm spanner ready to minimise noise time. If you have the radio code, you can unlock it with the key, pop the bonnet, and disconnect the Negative lead with the green thumbscrew and pull it off the terminal first to reduce the risk of shorting, also tends not to spark as much as the other way, then when you come to disconnect the Red Positive, theres no way you can short your spanner to the vehicle earth. Ahhh, Silence! then remove the Positive lead and charge your battery, remove the cell plugs to let the hydrogen gas escape, and make sure its well ventilated, otherwise, BANG could happen, unless its a sealed battery, then don't worry. Once its charged reconnect in the opposite order, but be ready with your keyfob, or better still have a mate ready as soon as you hear the alarm, lock then unlock. Then just re-enter the radio code by pressing the respective number buttons. If you don't have the code, you will need it reading, usually about £10 - £20

Mitsubishi Magna GLX 1993 jumpstarting sets off alarm!

Is the alarm factory fitted, cheap, or a top of the range.
the factory alarm you can pull the cable of the horn untill you get the car started.
there are some alarms that go off when there is a voltage change, and some will keep going for a couple of minutes if the battery is dead flat untill there is power to equilze the power abit,
and some alarms have a key over ride in the siren.
if its a cheap alarm take the battery of and charge it,(the alarm will cut out as soon as the battery is disconnected.
~dont jump start from a dead flat battery, as it can cause a lot more problems with the electrics, leave another car running with the jump leads on for at least 5 min first.~
