You may not have to! That's the good news. If you are careful you can use the thin tube you get with CRC spray or WD 40 to inject a very small amount of spray around the button where it slides in and out. Work the button in and out gently to release it!

The flite star has an external receiver ( a box located on the back on the motor), Remove the name plate from receiver box and you will find the learn button on a circut board

I also have the same problem. Any info on how to disassemble the display (especially after removing the two star head screws by the convex mirror) would be very helpful.
