Lost of things. Catalytic Convertor plugged, mass airflow sensor bad. timing chain jumped. Does it pop through the tower when running? Do have a diagnostic tester at your grasp? Sometimes this is the only way to test and fix. High milesge leads me to believe timing chain or plugged cat. Check the fuel filter also. Itr may be plugged. Your fuel pump could be bad also, but I doubt it, otherwise it wouldn't make it ten minutes.

SOURCE: runs good for about ten minutes and chuggs out and

You have a faulty sensor. The engine will run on predetermined sensor perimeters loaded on the computer when the engine is cold. Once the engine reaches operational temperatures, the computer then takes readings from the various sensors on the vehicle. If one is not operating correctly, it throws out bad readings and makes the vehicle run poorly.

The only way to have and idea of what sensor is causing the issue is to have your codes read. Take it to a parts store such as Autozone or Advance Auto and they will read your codes for free. You can then determine what is likely the problem.

If I had to guess, and assuming it's a sensor, I wouldn't be surprised if it was the O2 sensor or the ECT sensor. It's difficult to guess with such limited information.

Why does it die after 10 mins of driving and doesn't start for about 10 mins after that?

Two things I can think of. The coil is bad. They can do this from heat. They are good cold, but the heat opens a circuit and it dies. Next would be catalytic converter. It is clogged up. Check the converter first. Remove the pre O2 sensor. If it keeps going after ten minutes, This is your problem. If it dies check spark while still hot. No spark, coil. Just a note, you could still have converter problems.

Hi Kelly, im glad to help!

Kelly, there are so many things that can cause your vehicle to jerk during hot weather. The first thing to do is go the autozone and have them check it for codes then post the codes back here then I\'ll try to help you farther. Here\'s why! This could be an electrical issue, a fuel related issue, a computer issue an much more. I want to help you so post your codes here and we will work together to try and find your issue. hope this helps and have an awesome day Kelly.

Runs fine til the temp out gets hot enough then dies. Wait ten mins and it will start again and run for a few mins then dies again

you didn't say if it was hot on the temp gauge? no matter, it sounds like you have a stuck t-stat. when the engine is cold, a mechanical valve keeps the water from coming out of the engine block until warmed up, then opens and lts the cooler water in. this cools down the engine and the colder temp of the water shuts the valve again. this happens constantly while the engine runs, and if your t-stat is stuck, the engine heats up the water in the block, but with nowhere to go, simply overheats the motor. a good repair book will locate the thermostat housing for you and should you the repair procedure. (i assume you have checked the water in the rad. low water will give you same symptoms). good luck.

During cold weather the engine runs fine but during warm weather the engine dies

Could be a problem with your intake air temp sensor or your coolant temp sensor. The most likely would be the coolant temp sensor. It may be reading cold and will make it run good as the engine is cold but as it warms it is not adjusting the air fuel ration to the proper levels making it run rough hot

When you remove your thermostat check the number stamped on the thermostat. In cold weather you want a high number and opposite cold weather. Right back with number
