Take it to a shop, it could be as simple as needing to have the valves adjusted but it could be bad bearings in the lower end. So i would suggest getting it looked at before it gets worse. Btw, check your oil to make sure its full.

Suspect worn valve guides/seals causing this issue. You may need a valve job to correct this issue. If high mileage on this engine, rings could also be an issue and the repair will be expensive

2002 ford focus 2.0l sohc blowing white smoke and loud noise like a knocking from the bottom of the engine or/and rough idle, what could cause these

If a vehicle is smoking then it is obviously burning oil, loud noises from bottom of engine usually indicate main bearing failure, but that wouldn't usually make smoke are you sure it is from bottom of engine. Sounds more likely to me that you have either valve or piston problems, a valve seal gone would result in smoke as oil leaking into Cylinder chamber would burn producing smoke. Piston ring failure would also produce smoke and most likely a significant loss of power with possible noises resulting from broken pieces of ring in the cylinder impacting on head, this may have also unseated a valve causing the smoke. To check ring or valve failure you need to do a compression test, to check for bearing failure I am afraid it will require inspection either by removing sump pan ( oil pan) and removing bearing covers to check for damage.Whatever the cause it sounds as if it may be quite expensive and age and condition of vehicle should be taken into account, after all with the cheap cars on ebay it may be more cost effective to cut your losses and replace the vehicle.

Oil pressure drops intermittently

Try removing the cooling fan and shroud, unbolt the engine mounts and try to jack up the engine until you have clearance.

My 98 ford contour is making a clacking sound and smoke is coming from under the hood, what could this be?

To start with, the check engine light means there is a problem with the computer that controls the engine. You need to get it scanned to check for trouble codes. It is not telling you the engine is damaged.

As for the noise, it could be a long list of things including pistons and valves in the engine.
A mechanic can check for codes and evaluate the engine and then give you a report.

I have a 1998 ford expedition with a 4.6 liter, I am hearing alot of noise coming from the valves when accellerating. the engine doesn't burn any oil and has plenty of power. I was told it was not good to...

Is the check eng light on? if it is, and if it has EGR codes, the egr passages may be clogged. But if the light was on, you would mention that , right? You may hear "preignition" not the valves.

What is the average cost to repair a blown head gasket on a 1999 Ford Expedition having a 4.6 liter engine?

if you do it yourself, the gasket it probably like 50, intake gasket 30 , plus new head bolts, anywhere from 5-10 dollars each. if the head needs resurfacing its like 50, plus valve job is 140, --

the average, if you do it your self is about 500-

now if you have block damage, or severe head damage, that cost will go up significantly, and i dont know why you are replacing your head gasket or i could help you out with the price better.. leave a comment and i will answer your questions if you want.

if you take it to a dealer, it will be anywhere from 1500average to 3000 and up for significant damage..

why are you replacing head gasket?

Upper end engine clicking or clanking noise heard. Car runs and has power but is making this noise.143k miles v-6 4.0 sohc. What could this be?

Could be cam chain tensioner, valve lifter.
Add "motor medic" to oil in a warm engine.
The increased viscosity will push harder on the cam chain tensioner....if that is the issue.

Clean oil - better quality (synthetic) oil will clean a clogged lifter.
