Question about 2003 Subaru Forester
The lights on my dashboard do come on. I have the switched turned to high, but the lights are dim and on the right side of the dash they are almost non-existent.
I don't think it is a fuse. How would I check the light bulbs?
SOURCE: dashboard wont light up
So, this is not a 2000 Hyundai Sonata? I used to own a 2000 Honda Civic and I believe those lights get power from a fuse inside the fuse/relay panel located on the driver's side under the dash. Check all your fuses. If all fuses are good, you've got a wiring problem - check for power & ground at each bulb. Obviously, if you don't have power to them, it's a power distribution/wiring issue. If you do have power to them but no ground, it's still a wiring issue.

Take a look at your dome like switch to see if it can dim the overhead light any.If it can't, I would start there. If that checks out, then check all connecters going to the instrument panel to see if any of them are loose.

Sounds like your clock is dying. This is typically an issue with the clock itself. This is very common with many vehicles, CR-Vs, Pathfinders, 4runners, etc. The good news is that it can be repaired for a reasonable rate, check out www.autoclockrepair.com
