The part that moves goes into the water flow. Parts place should be able to help or call dealer.

I want to replace the theromstat on a 1994 ED Falcon futura and don't know where to find it. Connected to radiator or engine?

Follow the top radiator hose to where it connects to the engine there will be a housing there with the thermostat inside. When replacing the thermostat be sure to note the temperature range and direction of the thermostat so you can replace it with the proper temp. range and direction of coolant flow.

Heater does not work

The heater not working. This problem is related to few possibilities 1) The thermostat can be faulty. 2) the heater blower motor resistor is faulty 3) The heater blower motor it self is faulty. ------------ The The blower resistor is behind glove-box on plenum.Connect the 12 volt battery directly to the heater blower motor and see,if the motor runs then its faulty resistor or thermostat.but if no motor running then its faulty motor. The thermostat is located at the top front of the engine. For easy access follow the top radiator hose. The top radiator hose goes in engine .Take that hose out and thermostat will be seen inside. --------- The thermostat and resistor are not very costly part.So you can directly replace them and see if its helping.First confirm motor is working,by directly by passing the blower motor to 12 volt battery. ------------ This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

How and where do i change the thermostat in my van

Hello dcb. The thermostat is located in the hose coming from the radiator and is located on the top of the engine on the right side. If you remove the air breather box first it will give you some room to work but the back bolt on the thermostat is really difficult to get out due to lack of room to move the wrench. Make sure the coolant is not hot before you begin. MAKE A NOTE OF THE ARROW ON THE THERMOSTAT INDICATING THE DIRECTION OF FLOW SO YOU CAN MOUNT THE NEW ONE IN THE SAME DIRECTION. Make sure you have the necessary wrenches to remove each bolt, and have the new thermostat and gasket ready to install.

All you do is lower the level of coolant within the radiator by opening the lower stop **** [unless the level is already down], then remove the two bolts and use a putty knife blade to loosen the gasket which is usually somewhat "welded" to the thermostat. Once you have the old thermostat out, scrape off any remaining gasket material and then install the new gasket and thermostat paying attention to make sure the new thermostat direction arrow is pointing in the same direction as the old one did.

Need to replace thermostat but cannot locate it. need diagram or description of location.

FOLLOW THE TOP RADIATOR HOSE TO HOUSING.. IT HAS TO BE THERE..
PRIOR TO ENTERING ENGINE ,WATER FROM YOUR RADIATOR IS STOPPED HERE AT THERMOSTAT VALVE , UNTIL DESIRED TEMPERATURE IS REACHED..THEN THERMOSTAT OPENS TO ALLOW WATER INTO ENGINE WATER JACKETS PUMPED WITH ASSIST OF WATER PUMP

NOTE DIRECTION OF THERMOSTAT THERE IS A RIGHT AND WRONG DIRECTION

The thermostat in 2000 audi A6 is bad. How to fix ?

Hi,
The thermostat is located in a housing, mounted on your engine with the top radiator hose attached. It is relatively easy to replace.
Be sure to put the new thermostat in the correct direction (notice direction of old one before taking it out). Also, be sure to clean the old gasket from the housing and be careful not to break the housing... many are cast aluminum and overtightening a bolt can easily create a headache. :o)
Hope this helps... Good luck!

Direction of thermostat? Thermostat housing does not fit with thermostat springs down like most vehicles. Thermostat fits upside down. Whats going on?

On the thermostat it says to rad, which means the direction of the water comes out of the engine towards the radiator through the hose.

Where is the thermostat on a Ford Probe Lx and how do I change it? What direction does the thermostat point when installed?

your thermostat is located right under the radiator cap. it only points one direction in the tube. you should only have to pull 2 bolts to remove the peice to get to it.
