Leakage under glove compartment

Intermittent - only happens when it rains but not everytime it rains.
door and window seals appear intact and clean

seems to come in the right front air intake

there is a significant delay between when rain starts and leakage appears. Seems to be ponding somewhere and then overflowing. is there a drain line or something that can get blocked?

sometimes I get a trickle and it stops, but sometimes I end up with an inch of water on the floor, front & back right side

Open the hood and on the right side near the firewall you'll see the fresh air intake for the climate control system (heating and ac). Locate the grate which is about the size of a loaf of bread and has fins which run up to the bottom of the windshield. You'll find a foam seal which has deteriorated and will let water into the ac system if it blown in just right. Remove the crappy seal and caulk one side with a thick bead of silicon replace the grate and if you broke the connectors just glue them back with silicon also, use some masking tape to hold it down until the silicon sets. Guaranteed that's where your leak is.

When it rains, my car is soaked inside!! No cracked windows or door framing, what could it be?

check to see if the ledge under the hood next to the wiper blades. See if there are any holes in it, as this would tend to leak into the inside of the car

Leak onto floor behind the glove box, also making defrost slow to work.

i'm thinking this leak may actually be caused by a rusted out spot or hole on the hood of the vehilce, or by the windshield seal coming loose allowing water to enter..

if the cars antenna is above that area where the leak is it can also come from that..

basically it will enter the hood, run down the sides and gather on the floor under the glove compartment...

you said its only when its raining right ?? so its definitely a leak.

2005 v50 When it rains my car fills with water. It has happened on the driver and passenger side and under the seats. I saw water dripping from the glove box area.

Check all the seals around your windows and doors. Leaks could seep in through there drips at a time and fill the seats. also check the seals around your front windsheild.

1998 Jeep GC...passenger side floor full of water after rain. doors are closed, windows up. carpet right under dash is not wet. does not appear to be coming from under dash, it is dry. Any ideas will...

try the power wash and see if its the door seal pull the carpet back before you go through the problem should reveal its self if teres a leak from a seal . two other possibilities could be ventilation evaporation and or heater core line or heater core leakage.

Everytime it rains the passenger side will flood, weather stripping is intact, how do I prevent this?

Remove rear dooor panels. take inside plastic loose at the bottom and half way up the door.take and tuck in the bottom of door...this does take in account the plastic is still on the door. Now take another piace of plastic and seal it against the door frame . Then reinstall door panel.

Hi, rear footwell is filling up with water behind drivers seat. seems to be happening after heavy rain. Not sure if door seal problem or bung thing being clogged up under battery as some sites seem to...

It's probably coming from the sunroof drains being clogged.

Open the front door, look closely, you will see a rubber tube sticking out 1 inch. Cut off the tips so the tube is wide open.

2000 Grand Cherokee Dashboard leak

Maybe. If you have a fixed antenna on that side of the vehicle, the large rubber gromet on the wire leading into the passenger compartment may have come out, allowing lots of rain water to enter the vehicle. Happened on my 94 and flooded the passenger side.
