Seems like you need to replace the brake line. You will need to bleed the brakes afterwards.

these use by directional braking like the volvos have used for decades.that is the left rear brake works with the right front brake and right rear brake works with the left front brake.this is how the brake lines are connected to work for the braking system.so when you have a brake leak you will have to bleed the opposite brake to get the air out.this maybe your problem also if the abs system has air in it then it will have to be bleed of air.

1976 ford f150 broke brake line and replaced it.( rear). Bleed all lines front and back.No air. levels good in mast cylnder. spongy brakes first pump 2nd pump better 3rd 4th pump back to normal.....

Bleed the brakes again. Sometimes it takes more than once to get all the air out especially if you had to do the rear brakes. Hope this helps.

Check if there's any Leakage underneath the car and all around the brake hose or galiper/drum, maybe you broke a line or busted a seal in a galiper or a brake cylinder if you have rear drum brake, when you did hit really the brake pedal ! Or check if there's any leak near the Brake Master Cylinder, it could be a bad Brake Master Cylinder ! Check if you didn't Loose a Pad too.. !
