Solenoid, which is just a big switch might be bad, motor might be bad. If you have good access should be easy to troubleshoot. Doesn't sound serious.

SOURCE: my ford 2005 explorer sport trac the windows don't work.

You may want to check the relay that goes to the primary window. This will provide support to all the other windows. However, it may not just be the window relay, it could possibly be that between your window relay and your main switch there is a short or cut wire that is causing this problem. Unfortunately, you may need to visit your Ford Dealership to run a diagnostic on your wire or if you know an electronic shop that can run one to see if it is receiving and sending power. Have them check the main door fuse and window assembly to see that you are getting power.

Look in the owners manual and see if they have a circuit breaker or relay instead of a fuse. It could be bad and you would not see it.

2007 ford sport trac will not crank but has power to starter

The solenoid is just a big switch. If it is not working the starter will not engage which means you might have a bad solenoid or a bad motor.

Sport trac fails to crank. Battery ok. Changed starter but did not solve problem. What are other solutions?

There are a couple of things if you haven't checked them already. In the power distribution box located under the hood of the vehicle in the engine compartment there is a cartridge fuse and a starter relay. Below is a diagram of the fuse layout. The cartridge fuse is a 30 amp and is the one in the number 8 position and the starter relay is the one in the number 49 position. I have seen in many cases with Fords that if the starter has a short or it is trying to pull to much power it will blow the fuse. I hope this helps and good luck.

Won't start

Check the battery cables make sure they are clean and tight. Make sure the battery has at least 12V, new batteries sit on the shelf for months sometimes before they are purchased. If this yields no results, remove the starter and have it checked. If it checks bad, replace the starter.
