Should the center spindle nut and 2 torgued phillip head screws be removed to replace front brake rotor on 1999 honda accord lx

will try to help. 1st remove the wheel, then remove the 2 caliper bolts that hold the brake caliper on. after removal of brake caliper, [it should just pull off after the 2 bolts are removed] replace the brake pads[be sure to apply anti squeal lube to the outer side of the pads..not the pad itself, the one not contacting the brake rotor] install the pads, the you will need a C clamp to push the brake caliper pistons back into the caliper. i've used this installation easily. use the old pad ,place it against the caliper piston, then apply the C clamp and push the caliper piston back into the brake caliper, then the brake caliper will slide back over the new pads easily, no need to bleed the brakes if you use this solution. replace the brake caliper bolts, then go to next side and repeat the process. after the replacement of the front brake pads, pump the brakes with engine running!!! it's really a simple process. be sure the brake pads are facing the brake rotors with the [pads] facicing the rotors. no metal facing metal. easy! if you have added brake fluid recently, do not be alarmed if you see fluid coming out of the brake master cylinder, when you use the C clamp to collaspe the brake caliper back into the recessed position. [as always when you have to add brake fluid to the brake master cylinder,it only means your brakes are wearing naturally. if you have a vibration in front wheels or steering wheel when braking, you have a brake rotor or both front brake rotors that need replacement with your brakes also. hope this helps and as always, please get a second opinion if you have doubt. an expert will be happy to help. thank you for choosing fixya.com

IM WORKING ON A 88 OLDS 98 I REPLACED THE MASTER CYL. TWICE BOTH HOSES PADS ADJUSTED THE REAR BRAKES AND BLED 2 QTS. OF FLUID THROUGH IT AND STILL I HAVE A CRAPPY PEDAL IT FEELS LIKE THERE IS NO PRESSURE...

Have you changed the brake hoses on the front going to the brake caliper? If not, this could be the problem, also, when bleeding, only pump the pedal one time upon releasing the bleeder screw,do not pump the pedal, start at the master cylinder, then the right rear, and the left rear, and the right front and left front in that order, adjust the rear brakes to where the brakes are dragging pretty good, but are not locking up,

I had someone change my brake pads without bleeding the brakes and now my warning light is on

Start at the master cylinder and bleed ,then the right rear, then the left rear, and right front, then the left front wheel. You should not have to bleed the brakes to install brake liners.

I have a 1999 Old Silhouette Brake Warning Light

The front pads are worn down which makes the brake fluid fill up the void the brake pads are missing now due to wear. Replace the brake pads and brake rotors if the rotors are worn too, then top off the brake fluid if needed. You can top of the break fluid for now, but that's just going to turn off your break light warning till you breaks wear it self down to the point you damage the brake rotors.

Have the brake pads replaced and inspect the brake rotors, if your good with common tools you can do this job your self in under 1 hour. Tools you need is a jack, 15mm socket, ratchet, screw driver and a clamp. The Clamp is optional, you can get the brake pads at Auto Zone and they can give you the step by step instructions to getting the job done. Keep me posted, be glad to answer any questions you may have and good luck.

Illustrations on how to fit front brake pads to 1999 ford mondeo

Just observe how you take the old ones off. Pads can only snap in one way. It may take some effort but clean the caliper of rust you shouldn't have any problem. Remember to crack open your brake fluid reservoir before compressing the caliper!
