Wanting to fix problem..?

More likely a cracked head than a head gasket. You can get a head gasket test kit that will test for a leak of CO2 through the radiator.

Why is it overheating

If it's pushing coolant out of the reservoir overflow, that's a sign of a blown headgasket. Get an exhaust gas test kit and test the coolant for signs of exhaust gas. If it test positive, you've got a blown head gasket

What should the compression level be for a 1998 toyota camry?

compression should be about 150-180 psi with maximum deviation of about 20 psi between all cylinders. A compression test is not a very reliable way to test for headgasket leaks. It should be tested for headgasket leaks by using a chemical test caled a block test or checked with a device that can check for hydrocarbons in the coolant.

My 2000 pontiac sunfire is running hotter than usual

You didnt fix the leak all the way apparently because those are sure signs of head gasket failure. Get a compression test done and check your oil and coolant to see if they have any milky white color and texture. More than likely thats going to be your problem. I hope that helps.

I have 2005 Town and Country, notice coolant level were low (about gallon and half) but no sign of leak under the vehicle, is it headgasket blown out?

Symptoms of a blown head gasket are hard to miss-overheating, smoke coming out of the exhaust, rough idle, misfire, oil in antifreeze or antifreeze in the may have a small leak, combined with having not checked your fluid level for an extended period of time. The best course of action is go get the radiator pressure-tested, it will reveal if you have any sort of internal leak in the cooling system or the engine.

In the last week i have filled the coolant reserve tank several times, total of 2 gallons of coolant, and yet the reservoir runs dry and requires more coolant. I cannot find any coolant leaking under the...

hi, if your 100% sure that their is no coolant leaking onto the floor then look inside the car where the drivers and passenger feet are if the floor is wet then this means the heater rad is leaking and needs replacing if its dry then this could be a more serious problem now what you need to do is check your oil pull the oil stick out and check for signs of water if water is present then it will look a grey color and this would mean head gasket failure if how ever the oil level is ok and the color is normal then this could indicate that the head gasket has gone and the coolant is being burned out with the engine gasses, you need to get a compression test done and possibly a sniff test to test the coolant for signs of gasses from the engine.

Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

Stage one of a blown head gasket is a pin hole leak. As time goes by the hole(s) get bigger.
I will start traking the coolant lost and oil lose.
From the time you stop your engine to the next morning, there can be slow leakage between the coolant passage and the cyclinder end of the head gasket.
This is one possiblilty of lots of white smoke in AM.
Small amount is normal but large amount of smoke is a call for a professional check up.
To pin point a blowing headgasket you will need
1)coolant system compression tester
2)chemical reaction test for combustion test gas
If it's the org. engine from 1997,with over 110,000 then blowning headgasket is a good possiblity.
Drive it to the shop and let the pro to do the coolant pressure test and combustion gas test.
A full head gasket job with head re-surface (if it can be re-use) is worth it.
Shop around on well estiblished independent shops.
Fix the blown head gasket at the first stage of failure can safe you thousand on a head replacement.

Oil in over coolant tank

If there is oil inside the coolant liquid that is the head gasket.

Check first if oil can leak into the coolant tank from the cap.

Usually when you get oil into the coolant liquid you have an head gasket problem, do a compression test, or buy the home tester below. Guides - HOW TO TEST FOR A FAILED HEAD GASKET

Headgasket or Intake manifold gasket

You shouldn't have to go down to the head gasket. It's a VERY common problem in the 3.1 that the intake gaskets leak. Good luck!
