SOURCE: 1997 GMC K1500 4x4 5.7 SFI injection system

Hey there boatright33,

A few things things immediately come to mind.

There may be a problem with the engine controller. You could check the ODBII onboard diagnostics. Auto part stores will usually do this for you at no cost.

When you pulled the ones that were/went bad, how did the filters look? Could there be particulate matter still in the tank causing them to fail.

I always put this one off until last. Check the injectors. Are they gummed up?

Let me know what you find out

Does the Van Crank over?
Have you checked the IGN Relays? 1,2,and 3?
How did the Battery test out?
Anything below 11.9v battery is dead.
So I suggest that you do not throw any more parts and check the battery again.

01 dodge dakota 3.9. no power to coil replaced engine control relay still no power can jump across relay get power but no start and get code for no rpm

If you're getting a code for no RPM, the PCM is not receiving a signal from the crankshaft position sensor. The PCM uses the signal from the crankshaft position sensor to fire the coil/spark plugs. Check the wiring to the crankshaft position sensor and check the sensor itself.

Were is the fuel shutoff swith on my 2000 dodge dakota

It's doesn't have one ford is the only domestic car manufacturer that uses an inertia fuel shut off if it isn't getting fuel pressure you might have a bad fuel pump any easy way to check is put your ear to the tank and have someone turn the key on you should hear a buzz for about three seconds if no buzz verify power and ground and replace the fuel pump

My 1999 Dodge Dakota RT will not pass inspection. The check engine light stays on. I changed the O2 sensor and the speed sensor. What else can I do???

Check engine lights are designed to turn on because of an fuel/emission problem. You changed the O2 sensor, ****have you reset the computer by disconnected the battery for about 10-15 minutes?**** After you reconnect it drive for several miles to see if it turns on. Run the gas tank empty and when you pump gas try not to pump at gas stations that have E10 mixed with regular gas. BP and shell stations are known for that and can trip the O2 sensor. Try pumping at a gas station like the exxon. If you still have problems with the check engine light, try cleaning the mass air flow sensor ( its located after the air filter and before the throttle body). Also check the gas cap, making sure there aren't any leaks or signs of cracks in it. The best thing to do is to take it a Auto Zone or Advanced Auto and have it diagnosed for free. That could give you a better idea on what to look for if none of these things fix it

I have a 2000 Kia Sephia. that will start and then die. New starter, alternator and battery. Any thoughts?

well if it is cranking its not starter or battery . maybe check to see if fuel pump is working .check fuses. you should be able to hear pump run for a few second . if pump working maybe fuel filter or sensor like throttle position ,air idle sensor. make sure all wires are hooked up on alternator & starter . no vacuum hoses off any where . is check engine light on ?

Driven down road an 93 5.2 dodge dakota died replaced entirer sprak controls. coil, pick up an crank sensor cap an rotor

Ok, sounds like you took care of the spark end of it, what about the fuel delivery? Are you getting fuel? If you have fuel injection, open gas door and take off cap, have somebody put their ear by the filler, when you turn on the key, there should be a buzzing noise for a second or two, if you don't hear the buzzing, the fuel pump is not working and needs replacing, in which case the gas tank needs to be dropped to change it.

turn the key to the on position a see if you can here a buzzing sound around the fuel tank,if you don't hear a sound then. (be very careful while doing this) with the key off take a fuel line coming from the tank loose, make sure its pointed away from you and turn the key to the on position, see if any gas comes out,if not then your fuel pump is probably bad.
