The code/s will have to be retrived from the Abs module. This will give information on what part of the Abs system has a fault....and it may tell what sensor.

Abs lights on my 1200Lt bmw flash on and off

The abs light is telling you that the abs system is failing and cannot be trusted. Have the codes read and replace what is faulty. Some cars use the abs sensors as part of the ride stability system so you need to have the check done urgently

What cause the abs and battery light to stay on.

The ABS light is on because you have a code stored in your ABS module. It is a good idea to bring it to a shop that has an ABS scanner to determine the problem. They can tell you precisely which wheel sensor is bad or which ABS component is faulty. There is one wheel sensor at each wheel, directly over the exciter ring at each hub. If you want to scan the code yourself, you will need a Ford Super Star II tester or an equivalent scan tool to access the ABS system. Take a look at the front and rear ABS notched rotors, and make sure they are not caked up with debris, oil or dirt because the sensors read these notches.

The battery light may be on for the following reasons:

1. Alternator faulty - get it tested at Autozone, or similar
2. Alternator Belt slipping
3. Underhood Alternator Fuse - 175A Mega Fuse
4. Fuse 2 - 10A
5. Fuse 5 - 10A

Stop at a Tuffy or other shop and they can scan for codes to tell you which sensor may be faulty. Wheel sensors are easy to replace.

In my Land Rover Discovery 2000, the ABS, traction control and hill descent warning lights come on when sometimes on brake application other times no apparent reason when driving and then reset and behave...

you've got a bad wheel speed sensor or corresponding tone ring. take it to a dealer. they'll hook it up to a computer and tell you which sensor or tone ring it is and give you an estimate. you only pay for the hour of diag.

Abs light comes on while driving

Hi there,

In the event of the ABS light coming on whilst driving, means the ABS computer has detected either a malfunction, or one of the sensors is not operating as it should.

When the ABS light comes on, the computer will de-activate the ABS function of your braking, and your vehicle will now be operating under normal brakes (i.e. no anti-locking ability) and will now be susceptible to wheel lock-up under extreme emergency braking.

I would highly recommend you have the ABS computer scanned for 'trouble codes'. This will tell you "where" in the ABS system, the fault lies.

It could be anything from a simple wheel sensor needing adjustment, to a faulty pump.

As with all modern vehicles, your respective onboard vehicle computer will 'tell you' where the problem lies.

2007 Dodge Caravan ABS light stays on after

Common issue when a wheel sensor gets faulty. On every wheel there is a sensor which informs the ABS system about wheel speed. If any of them is broken then the ABS system locks up and you get the warning light. In this case your brakes are working just as fine but you dont have ABS so wheels can block when you push the brake hard enough.Trouble code reader can tell you which one is faulty.

2001 hylander abs light just came on brakes feel ok

your brakes will function normally, you just will not have abs until you solve the problem, the most common solution is a wheel speed sensor, if you can get the codes from the abs computer, it generally will tell you which one is faulty. If you can't get codes try unpligging each sensor and replugging them. could just be a bad sensor. Hope this helps!

This could be a dirty or faulty wheel sensor, a faulty ABS pump, or a faulty ABS computer.

You could try cleaning the wheel sensors by spraying them with brake cleaner, and if this doesn't rectify the problem then a garage can read out the ABS fault codes and tell you what the problem is.

Sometimes just a reset is enough to clear it.
