Question about 1998 Mercury Mountaineer
You need to take that vehicle to a transmission shop or the dealership right away! If you continue to use the parking break it is going to cause unpredictable wear on it in the future or even now - that vehicle rolling on more than a 1% incline can kill a person. Take that vehicle in for service and make sure to block the tires EVERYTIME you park until you get that vehicle looked at and do not travel with children in this vehicle!
