It sounds like the car was ran out of oil.The engine bearings and crankshaft journal are probably scarred. The noise you are hearing is more than likely a piston rod slapping around about to break loose from the crankshaft. So,yes the engine is toast...Sorry..Good Luck!!!

SOURCE: 2001 focus. Replaced plugs, wires and coil pack.

Have you replaced the timing belt? if not i would highly recommend doing so. these cars need to have the timing belt replaced before it breaks otherwise it can and will cause major engine damage.

SOURCE: I have a 1994 BMW

The car smokes only when oil or water gets in the cylinder. In your case the gasket blew outwards and since always the water circuit is the closest one of the exterior of the engine this is why you got oil in the antifreeze and not the other way around. The fracture in the gasket has been sealed by the gunk in the oil so running Bar's Leaks Liquid Copper Block Seal not only hasn't helped ( it couldn't have gone in the fault of the head gasket since it was already clogged and the pressure in the oil system is way higher than that in the cooling) but it has generated other problems in the water pump - it has clogged the water channels and messed up the fins on the pump itself.
Sorry, the pump must be replaced and the entire circuit flushed thoroughly multiple times to remove all the traces of that seal.
The Blue Devil Head Gasket Sealant is just another sealant that has very little to do with your problem . And even that one will be just a very temporary fix. Use it if you don't want to keep the car for long and don't want to fork the big bucks for replacing the gasket.

Hate to tell you this bud but you have a head problem most definitely
Head gasket is blown or maybe even a cracked head
Bad news is most caddy engines have problems with head bolts upon removal
I would be looking for a used engine

Rattling from upper front of engine and coolant loss runs rough

you have over heated the engine and the noise may be from ring failure . It may be from detonation from the fuel detonation from an extremely hot chamber. Have a compression test done to determine internal damage _--gasket and cracked head--. Have the coolant system pressure tested to check for leakage

Temp gauge and blazer jumps around when driving

Vehicle temperature gauges (temp gauge) read the temperature of the liquid in cooling system. From what I understand, the temp gauge jumping around has since gone away after you placed water into the radiator. It is very possible that water converted into steam was trapped in the cooling system and reached the temp sensor in your engine. The vehicle moving caused this steam to shift around reflecting rapid changes in temperature on the sensor, causing the needle to jump around on your console.
Hope this helps.

Car running hot

Probably a cracked cylinder head or block, or both. Or the head was warped and the head gasket has blown again.
When the engine gets very hot the gasket expands, and after a few times it will not return to its original shape.

2001 Kia Spectra Problems

I am not familiar with this car model but i would presume that the engine is linked with an automatic choke for cold starting and the revs should go down as the engine starts to heats up. this probably works on a vacuum system based around your inlet manifold, and the noise your hear could be a leak in the vacuum pipe. you should pop your hood before starting and try listening for that noise to pin point it's location. if your lucky you might just find a small crack in a pipe that can be replaced with ease. of coarse first thing in the morning would be the best time to check this when the engine is cold.it's worth giving it a go and i hope you get it sorted, good luck

I have a 2001 alero with a manual transmission. My battery is dead and I am wondering if I can jump start it or will the security system not allow it? I tied it once but it didnt start.

You should be able to jump start it, make sure that your battery cables are tightly connected to that battery. Then hook up that positive battery cable on the car that is running then the positive on the battery you are jump starting then hook up the negative cable on the car running then the negative to the dead car. If your connections are good when you hook up the last connection you should be able to see a little spark, and hear a hissing or popping noise. Leave it hooked up for at least 5 minutes before you try and crank it. If it then cranks and then just clicks you need a better connection between the jumper cables. If you get nothing it might be your starter if you are getting headlights, and a radio working. If nothing works there is a bad wire somewhere.
