Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Good Day
Vale clearance cold
intake .006 in (.15 mm)
exhaust .010 in (.25 mm)

Timing
1. With transmission in Neutral or park, start engine and warm to normal operating temp. turn eng,and all accessories off. connect Tachometer. Connect timing light to no 1 spark plug wire.

2. Disconnect and plug fuel vapor canister purge hose and EGR vacuum hose. Start and ensure idle is 900 RPM. adjust idle as required. Check ignition timing ( 12 @ 900)

3. If adjustment is required, loosen distributor hold down bolt and turn until timing is within specification. Tighten distributor hold down bolt and recheck timing. adjust idle speed as required.

hope this helps

Cheers

I just did the valve clearance on the engine of my SJ413 that has the 1000cc engine of an SJ410 :
When cold: 0.13mm Intake and 0.18mm Exhaust
Engine sounded well and worked fine after that.

There is no valve adjustment for that engine, Hydraulic lifters, You might remove the valve cover and see if you have a rocker arm loose

Isuzu 6ev1 valve clearance

I don't understand you question because there is no clearance measurement. It is an interference engine, meaning if timing belt is installed incorrectly, or allow can shafts to spin while belt removed will cause valves to come into contact with piston bending valves and destroying engine. Valve height and lock groove height and valve guide clearance. All of which preformed with head removed and valve spring on bench. Total length of valve to check for tuliped valve, due to running very lean and/or got very hot. One or all cylinders, accordingly. So what are we fixing and from what year and model isusu? Mechanics aren't supposed to know how to spell.

Valve setting

Personally, the valve clearance (if nobody's been messing with it) would be last on my list of suspected causes.. Knowing diesel engines like I do, my very first suspect would be a dirty fuel filter.
