Well if its located in the tank and there are no access points under the back seat or carpet in far back then you have to take the tank out to replace it,but make sure its not on the outside of the tank first or elsewhere,i dont have the book on it to know where its actually located, but you can check online or buy the haynes repair manual

SOURCE: Where is the Fuel Pump on a 95 Rodeo

The fuel pump is located in the fuel tank. To change it you need to releive fuel pressure, then unbolt the skid plate then the tank and it will be on top of the tank.

SOURCE: 99 rodeo ran out of gas now no start

If you can hear the pump run and you get no fuel its the pump, If it blew the fuse i would say the pump tied up. That happens when you run around on empty a lot, gas is what keeps pumps cool when you run under 1/8 of a tank pump is not submerged in gas to keep cool hense pump burns up.

I just purchased a 1991 Isuzu Rodeo and the fuel pump is not priming it. The SUV runs it just doesn't want to start.

start by checking the fuel pressure and do it while starting. see how long it takes for the fuel pressure to build and once it has built up, wait and watch it bleed down. it should hold. if not, replace the pump and filter. a fuel pressure guage is going to be your best friend in this case. it would be a good idea at this point to also replace the plugs. happy new year

Adjusting fuel pump

If you have the 91 3.1 V6 Rodeo you can't adjust the fuel pump or fuel pressure. The only thing you can really do is to get a throttle body rebuild kit that will have a new diaphragm for the fuel pressure regulator. If you want to adjust it, you'll have to get an aftermarket regulator and install on the return line (the smaller line) and remove the spring out of the regulator on the throttle body. If you feel the fuel pressure is too low, then you might need to change the pump. Its located in the fuel tank, only takes 1 or 2 hours to do.
