SOURCE: 1997 Ford Mustang won't go out of PARK!! HELP!!

The brake light switch at your pedal is defective, or more likely, the wire at the connector broke or came loose. If you need to move it in an emergency, turn off the car, place it in neutral, and start it. Mind you that you still will not have brake lights. The switch is an easy fix.

SOURCE: 1969 ford mustang mach 1 brake / stop light switch challenge

I installed a new turn signal switch in the steering column, and it fixed my brake light problem. Evidentally the turn signal and brake light wires use the same plug wires. It cost about $70. I would suggest doing this.

SOURCE: brake lights stopped working 1998 mustang

Fuse panel is under the dash also as I have found with my own graceful daughter, there is a brake light switch that connects to the brake pedal itself. It is hard to get to and even harder to see but a lot of times these switches get bumped and they can not make connection when the brake pedal is depressed. Hope this helps

Why would the brake lights go out in my 2003 Ford Mustang, when all of the fuses are still good?

It could be a number of things. I would check the brake light switch. Look upward from where you put your foot on the pedal, you will find the switch. Test for voltage on both sides of the switch. There should be power to one side of the switch at all times. When you push the brake pedal down, the power should flow to the other side (wire), of the switch. Basically, if you have power coming in to the switch, and you DON'T have power going out of the switch (with the brake pedal depressed), then it's the switch.

03 mustang dash and tailights are working

if you installed an aftermarket stereo, the tail lights run through the illumination. make sure all wires are hooked hot to hot and ground to ground. if you installed it while battery was hooked up and touched a wire, most likely blew a fuse

2003 Ford Mustang won't shift out of park

Could be the brake switch, or the shift lock solenoid.
Both components would need to be tested. And you may be able to shift out of park if you try before you turn the key switch to the on position.

Hi, I have power to back up lights, turn signals and tail lights, but no brake lights, what should I check? Joe

first try a new bulb on one side of the brake light at the rear if still not working then i suspect it will be the brake light switch assuming your fuses are all good.

My ABS light is turned on, on my dashboard. I have 2003 Mustang with V6 engine. Thanks!

Check/replace brakes if needed But, if you had those brakes replace recently, take the car back to the shop that did it and tell them what's wrong and that you demand they fix it. But, before you do al of that, check your brake fluid level.
If your brake fluid is full then you my need to bleed your brakes or replace ABS sensors on your disk brakes which isn't easy or cheap

Where do I adjust the e brake sensor on my 2003 Mustang GT Convertable? The e brake light blinks on and off while changing gears. Also what tool do I use to make the adjustment?

There are two places to adjust the e brake. The most important one is under the drivers side chassis and the other is on the console e brake lever at the base. You may need a very deep socket to adjust the one on the console. thanks, Dana
