Re: Where are the sparkplugs?
Youre going to have to take the engine cover off and find the coil packs in the center of the valve covers. The rears are located begind the back of the intake manifold, they cant really be seen well. Not an easy task for a beginner. Fronts are really easy, rears are not.

No engine fires all spark plugs at one time. Ever see an engine that has all pistons come up at the same time, won't work designed like that Injectors fire along with the plugs!! You'll have to access a factory diagnostic manual, if you want to know the misfire detection strategy for your motor. Could ask that question using Google or study your motor on the internet
This all depends on if its got coil over plug or sparkplug wires, whichever remove the coil or the sparkplug wire and then remove the sparkplug, this engine may have covers that cover the plugs, just remove the covers and make sure to label any wires you remove to get the covvers off.
If your sportage has the 4 cylinder engine, there is a plastic cover over the engine that is held down by 4 bolts, one at each corner. Remove the bolts with a 10mm socket and lift he cover off and lay it aside. You will see the spark plug wires and the 4 holes where the spark plugs are. The spark plugs are about 4 inches down into the holes. Be careful removing the spark plug wires, they will be tight, and you will have to rotate them back and forth while pulling up to get them loose.
the spark plugs are located under the coil packs they have one or two bolts holding each one in. you have six cylinder so there should be six coil packs three facing you when you pop hood and three more located towards the back. let me know if you have any other questions.
well to start the front are easy just take the 10mm bolts of the coil packs and unplug connectors then using a spark plug socket or a 7/8 i think will work with an extension and a ratchet loosin and remove tighten new ones to snug then rotate ratchet 180 degrees to get them tight but not to tight ,the rear spark plugs will give you carpel tunnel but are doable remove the airbox tube to the throttle body and remove the pcv valve and hos e on the passenger side in rear so you can axcess the one on the left and remove the 10s and unplug harness just like the front kind of a pain but may be worth the money saved hope this helps
