the lamp is burned out and can't get to it without removing the entire unit, so my question still is "there are 2 long bolts holding the housing in position, can only remove one, the other spins in place. What's the trick to getting the other long bolt out?"

How to disconnect thermastat on 1990 Chrysler New Yorker

If you want to remove the thermostat it is on the engine where the top radiator hose connects to it. The thermostat is under the metal housing the hose connects to. Remove the two bolts and thermostat is underneath. Take it out and bolt housing back on. I would advise replacing thermostat with new one and gasket.

How do you remove the head lamp assembly on a 1993

1. Make sure headlamp is off and open hood.
2. Taurus model years 1990-1999: you must remove the whole headlamp to replace the bulb. Not a horrible task. Just annoying.
3. Facing the driver's side headlamp, and looking at the headlamp itself, at clock positions 8, 11 and 1 are the headlight housing screws. They all look the same. Using a 10mm socket wrench, remove these 3 screws and set them aside.
4. Just to the right of the "11 o'clock" housing screw is a bolt (same hexagonal 10mm sized top as the housing screws). This just needs a few turns to loosen it.
5. Gently pull the whole headlight forward. Now you can get at the bulb.
6. Disconnect the electrical connector from the bulb. Now the headlamp is free to work with. Remove the bulb, replace with a new bulb, make sure the bulb housing cylinder is in place and reconnect the electical.
7. Place headlamp back into position. Line up screw holes. Tighten the bolt. Replace housing screws and tighten.
8. Passenger side headlamp is mirror image of driver's side. Screws at 11, 1 and 4 o'clock positions. Bolt should be to the left of the "1 o'clock" housing screw.

How do I remove a fuel injector in my 1988 chrysler new yorker?

There is what is called a fuel rail. The fuel injector fits in between the fuel rail and the intake of the engine. If you look around the rail you will find a few bolts (usually 10mm) holding the rail in place. remove the rail bolts and gently pry up the rail. The injectors fit into each one with an o-ring sealing each side. Watch because sometimes the o-ring will stay in the rail or intake and you want to remove them before trying to put the new injector into it. If you have a little petroleum jelly, put a small amount on the o-ring before inserting it in the rail and intake. Line up all the injectors with the rail and intake and gently push them in. When all are lined up you can lightly tap the rail with a hammer, LIGHTLY tap it into place and reinstall the retaining bolts.

Hope this helps.

How to replace head lamp in 1994 Chrysler New Yorker

headlights are changed from within the engine compartment... if it's the side the battery is on.. it will likely need to be removed first... do not touch the bulbs with your fingers as that shortens their life.
