2006 nissan armada; makes audible knocking noise from under dash

When I switch the ac/heat ducts from any other position into the face position for the vent air flow there's a very audible knocking sound. I need to trouble shoot myself as the warranty is used up 3/36 . Do you think something dropped down into the duct and is blocking the mechanisms or is it a broken part issue?

SOURCE: Air duct doors fail to operate when using the selector knob.

There is a very small black hose that provides vacuum to operate the different vacuum motors in the system through the switch you mentioned, that switch simply diverts vacuum to what ever air outlet u select, the vacuum comes from the engine, it goes through the firewall on tha passenger side, like I said it is a small black hose.

first be sure temp control is pushed over to cold. If the system is still there, you need to add refrigerant to system & check for leaks

When i turn on heat or ac on face i hear a knocking noise coming from behind dash

If it doesn't turn to the Face/dash. Then you have some work ahead of you. The motor is turning(causing the knock sound) but the door in the plenum isn't. The gear is what's causing the noise. But I could be wrong. Older cars don't have this. Year make and model please.

Air vent heater

Check the vacuum can on the ac box. It may just be a broken vacuum line or the can can be bad. There is a baffle in there that has to move from AC to heat. Sound likes there no vac getting to the baffle vacuum can. Could also be the switch in the dash board controller. Depends on what type of car it is.

Heater on nissan almera

That noise is the heater and AC air temperature control electric blend door motor trying to move a duct door that is sticking due to heat warping. You will need to remove the entire dash assembly and replace the blend door. This door is located between the AC core and the heater core and "blends" the air from each (hot from heater core and cold from AC core) to give the desired air temperature,.

tha anti freeze mizture should not matter, coolant should reach a running temp and stay there , i would look into a thermostat, and check the mix doors, it may not be giving you full heat,

Loud noise from under the dash, ac/heater area. No cool air 97 li

If this noise is a clicking sound and is coming from the front center of the dash, then it may be the blender door motor which will require removal of the dash to replace it. It will keep the door from switching from heat to a/c. Does the odor smell like you have a freon leak in your a/c evaporator core or does it smell like a rat stuck in your heater and a/c ducts?

2006 Nissan Armada, front blower for heating and air doesn't work

Your could check to see if the blower switch has gone out. On the main unit. Posibly the wire harness conection might have came loose inside the dash area. Check the fuses just to make sure they aren't on separate circuits.
