Under dash driver side look behind the upper arm of clutch pedal and you should see a green and black wire coming from the button (switch) assembly on the firewall. The wires go up above the clutch pedal. About in the middle of under dash on the left side you should see a white connector these wires run to. Disconnect. I just had the problem and not only starts now but not stalling like it was but it's only been one day but tested it pretty good.

How do I get the stuck right rear window on my 2001 Volvo V70 up?

It could be one of three issues, so start with the first and free step. Ensure the child lockout switch below the rear window switches on the main window switch cluster is ON. If its off then it shuts off power entirely to both rear windows as a child safety feature. Second, slowly and repeatedly close all vehicle doors, then lock and unlock the doors remotely 5 times with a pause of about 20-30 seconds between each lock and unlock attempt. Usually after the 5/5 time the windows should start working properly again. Third, the main window switch cluster may need to be replaced. Checkout eBay item numbers 161698032254 or 151307494170. You can change the switch yourself with simple tools if need be. Short of these options, you'll need to visit a mechanic and have it properly checked and fixed.

2006 Volvo started fine went to store went to start nothing happened. key would not turn completely in iginition

Sometimes the steering wheel locking mechanism or the shifter location may cause the switch not to turn all the way.
try the transmission in neutral and then try to start.

Volvo V70 auto estate 1999. Reversing light stays on while ingnition is on!

Most cars have a feature called a neutral safety switch. This device generally provides two functions: first it prevents the starter from being engaged unless the transmission is in neutral or park gear, secondly it turns the back-up lights on and off as appropriate. With age and use this switch can and does fail and more often it needs adjustment. Being a volvo part I do not imagine it is carried in stock at most parts stores, however a dealer's service/parts guy could show you the part, and its location on an illustrated parts breakdown. He also could give you some idea of how often this part creates problems such as yours. You could then make a decision as to whether or not you want to replace yours and whether or not you want to do it yourself.

Volvo won't turn over is there a safely switch that acts like an interlock? Thnik it is related to park position on transmission. If so how much does it cost to fix?

turn on your head lights .. if they dim or go out when you turn on the starter then suspect a bad battery or cable connection ... if they stay on bright then it could be your "neutral safety switch" .. thats often mounted on the steering tube .. in some cars its easy to change .. not sure about the volvo .. you can wiggle the gear selector around to see if you can engage the starter .. some cars also have a brake safety switch .. that requires that the brake is on before it will allow the starter .. you can probably locat these parts from drawings available at the library ..
