Idle speed should have nothing to do with ABS. Did both come on at same time?? Check engine light can be easily checked for code # at many parts stores. They will check for free. This code may give a hint to problem but need to get that code for check engine light to start with. Code will be 4 digit number. P03000, P0420 etc. Need code stored for solution to begin
Ok two things here.... first what color is it....Blue meens you have bad rings or bad valves, white with the smell of anti freeze meens you could have a cracked head or blown head gasket. Sorry..... hope this helps. Oh i forgot one....black meens your getting way to much gas.....
The check engine light comes on mostly when you have bad gas tank cup,or you don't tight enough the gasoline.Go to any auto-zone and request the obd scanner,at no charge just leave your driver license or credit card, connect the scanner follow the instructions. They will check up and the check engine light will come off in the next 3 to 5 days. Thank you !!
P0300 is a general code for "multiple engine missfires". This can be caused by several things. Since it is stalling and "dieseling" (noisy engine) after you come to a stop it sounds like the ignition system is shutting down for some reason. (dieseling requires fuel but not spark) Have shop check for cam and crank sensers, coil pack, and PCM. If he gets a P0000 code ever it will need a PCM and reprogram. It can be a bunchof other items as well but this is the most likely path I would take.
you will require to get the car to a dealer to but on the diagnostic equipment to determine what your problem is but you can check a few things like when the car is idling open the oil filler cap and check what he engine is doing the engine should not stall this will give you an indication that the pcv valve is leaking and must be changed.
Whens the last time you gave it a tune up???Check the distributor. It may have water or moisture in it or the rotor may have a hole burn't in it..Check all wires..If all that stuff is good look around for a vacuum leak.Maybe a hose came of the air cleaner or one off the duck work going to the intake..If that stuff is good then try giving it a fuel pressure test. That should help you with the problem..Have a great night..
it could be a lot of thing if you can take the truck to Autozone and see if thay can pull the engen truble codes off and tell you what set the engien light off. if not you might need to take it to a repair shop
