I need to learn how to put the windshield wiper linkage back on

Remove the wiper arms completely. Turn on the wiper motor and then turn it off again, allowing it to park automatically.
Now put the wiper arms back so that the blades just touch the bottom edge of the windscreen, or wherever the correct position is. Tighten the nuts
Have fun!

Driver's side wiper not working

The wiper arms are attached to the wiper motor by clips. If the drivers side clip came undone then the wiper arm could possibly fall off the motor. Some wiper arms are attached as a duet with 1 clip. In this case the arm broke off the mounting plate and the entire assembly needs to be changed.

These parts, for some reason, are called wiper transmissions. You can web search the part by that name on the internet. You will probably find good photos to show how they are made. You may just need to replace the clip which also can be researched on the internet.

Windshield wiper linkage

This is a bit of an awkward one on that car, but you have to remove the wiper arms, then remove the retaining nuts on the spindles, the wiper motor and get to the inner wiper control arms. There's a chance that one of the nylon cups which connect the control/drive arms has popped off and simply needs to be reconnected.

I didn't know my wipers were frozen to the windshield, so when I turn them on, they couldn't move. I immediately went out and broke them loose, but now they won't move. The moter is working, and I can...

Using a small flat blade screwdriver and prying up.Then remove the 13mm headed nut.remove the stripped arm and clean the splines on the stem where you removed the arm.Turn your key on and turn your wipers off. After you see the stems stop moving then reinstall the arm on the bottom of the windshield like they be when not being used.If the vehicle has factory windshield in the windshield may have dots or lines where the wipers should sit on the windshield when tighten the nut and try out the wipers to make sure they move correctly.

Turned my wipers on in 1980 oldsmobile cutlass only one arm moved

Take your car to AutoZone and tell them. It is either the windshield wiper motor or a small plastic piece that connects the arm to the motor broke. I am leaning toward the plastic piece being broken, it is really inexpensive to fix. The people at AutoZone will be able to check it and tell you exactly hat is wrong. WARNING: watch them and what they do. some people are not as honest as others.

Spring on wiper arm broke. How does the wiper arm come off its pivot?

There is one middle 13 or 14 mm screw that holds it in place in the centre of the pivot which in turn move the wiper so that it would clear your view. That need to be unscrewed and then the wiper pops out of the pivot.Hope this helps.

Wiperarm disconnected

The arm presses into the transmission wiper link which is attatched to the wiper motor. If that part broke off and its in the wiper arm socket you need a new wiper transmission assembly. If the tud is still attached to the wiper transmission and the arm just plain came off there is a tab that pushes inward to lock it in place to the wiper transmission when fully pressed into place

1990 Sentra left wiper inop

Hi. I had this happen to me on my 2000 F-150. You stripped out the gears in the wiper arm where it mounts on the motor. Replace the wiper arm on that side. They are inexpensive and very easy to change. Hope this helps. Let me know if I can be of anymore assistance. spellcheck.gif
