Sounds like to me that you heater ballast resister Needs replacing Possibly could be the control switch but very unlikely 99% heater resister

1: not enough liquid in the system (air in the heater core)
2: inoperative heater valve not allowing hot liquid into the core
3: hot/cold blend door in the heater box stuck on cold

A clogged heater core will have one hot hose and one significantly cooler hose at the firewall connection; easily tested by hand. a good core will have both hoses very hot to the touch when the heater is on full blast.
Make sure that the system is full and at operating temperature, and the heater controls set on full heat. Feel the hoses at the firewall; if they are both too hot to touch then the problem is in the heater box or controls.

1997 Camry 4-cyl fan works but heat very weak - coolant level ok


Probability 1) The thermostat is probably stuck open, coolant is not getting hot enough from the engine to provide heat.

Starting from cold, allow the engine to run and warm up. While doing this, feel the upper radiator hose - you should be able to feel the coolant heating up to the point the hose is uncomfortably hot. If it gets that hot, then go to next step.

Probability 2) The heater core flow is restricted, not allowing full flow of coolant into passenger compartment.

There are 2 smaller heater hoses that run to the firewall. Are either of these hoses getting hot? Both sides hot indicate full coolant flow. Both sides cool indicate heater control valve not opening fully.

2002 jeep liberty , heater blower resistor i know was going bad , cause it only worked on setting 4 , but now its not working at all , its not blowing out period . so could it still be the heater blower...


maybe check the heater fan motor by hooking it direct to power and if it blows full power then it has to be the resistor or maybe the switch for the speed control is burned up.

The heater only blows cold air,the radiator is full,thermastat is working and the engine temp is within normal ranges.


I've had this problem. 2000 GMC uses a closed coolant system. Meaning takes and returns coolant from and to the Reserve Bottle and has little air in the engine and heater systems.
If everything appears ok but no heat. "Air Lock" is the most likely cause. (With interior heater set to full heat) Solution; 1. Make sure water pump works. 2. Drain about 1/2 engine coolant into container. 3 Remove both heater hoses from engine side and flush heater core in both directs through heater hoses with garden hose. 4. Reattach heater hoses in correct locations. 4. Refill engine with coolant. 5 Start engine and run for 2 min., use caution when topping up coolant.
6. Most 2000 GMC have twist off caps with plugs located mid way on heater hoses. with engine cold, start engine these caps may be loosened to allow trapped air to escape. Do not attempt with engine hot due to hot coolant injuries. This may take more than one attempt to remove all air from heat system. 7. Lastly most 2000 GMC water pumps have a bleeder plug,( 3/8" square driver plug) located on the water pump. With egine cold this plug should be removed to remove any air. Reinstall plug with thread sealant.

The first three seting aret working on my blower moterbut 4 and five works. takes a long time to heat up


The blower moter resistor is probably bad. It's located
on the heater box under the right side of the dash.
Now as to the slow heat up situation. Check your coolant level make sure it's full. Not just the overflow
bucket. With the engine cool open the radiator cap and make sure it's full. It may heat up a bit faster after you replace the resistor and the blower is not
is not blasting the heater core before it can warm up

2001 mazda protege heater would only work on


You may have a faulty fan switch. Had mine replaced when only #1 and #4 were working and it fixed the problem. Unfortunately, there may be more issues, as a year later the switch is failing again. May be some kind of feedback that is causing it to fail.

first of all the water pump doesn't have a heater, all the water pump does is cycle water (coolant) throughout the cooling system, the heater is up inside the dash behind the glove box.

I would feel the two 3/4" heater hoses that run from the engine into the heater core, if both of them are hot (providing the engine is at full temp) it one is hot and the other is cold maybe the heater core is plugged.

Heater only working on low for about 2 min then cold air changed thermostat and water pump bleed the system still not working


The Heater core is plugged with accumulated precipitate found in old antifreeze. Changing the coolant does not rid the system of the problem. You must reverse flush the heater core with a hose on full pressure several times & be prepared to do it again in a few weeks. The 6 cylinder motor is a breeze to do but the 4 cylinder is very tight to get to.

Cause of this problem is the RESISTOR PACK that has gone bad. Usual location is in the AC/Heater housing not too far from the blower motor. The ones I've changed look like a rectangular, 2" x 1", cover with an electrical connector in it held onto the housing with 2 screws.

sup dude 9 chances outa tem when your working heater switch only allows you to have one or two settings on the switch its due to a faulty blower motor resister you should just have t replace it and then you should be good to go ok good luck hope this helps J-Hiorns
