Suddenly the car stalls while driving down the road sometimes it will start after a few mins sometimes it wont. It acts like its out of gas but has had at least 1\4 tank in it every time its happened

I had this happen to my car..loosen the gas cap.and see if this helps.it might set off the check engine light .but if it goes away then you know to get a new cap.it sorta works like a gad can with a weep hole ...if you put your thumb over the hole the gas doesn't run out as fast your thumb is the cap.let say ...most caps today have a diaphram.that let's air into the tank.so gas cam flow...most caps are plastic.but the diaphram is stainless.after awhile something is gonna break. .....anther thing could be the sending unit in the gas tank has lifted.it's not all the way down or reading gas level in tank correctly.do this with a rubber mallet.smack the bottom of the tank .but not to dent it see if this fixes your problem. If it doesnt.you'll have to take it to your mechanic.

My 2000 Lincoln LS keeps leaking gas when putting over 40 dollars worth of gas whats could be wrong?

If you recently replace your fuel pump, then maybe they didn't put the deal ring or it came loose, if that's ok, check your over flow hoses, also the fuel filter, careful its pressurized.

What does P0496 mean on a Saturn Vue?

When the gas pump first stops do you try topping off the tank ? You should stop filling when pump stops ,your flooding the Evaporative emission canister .

We were in a parking lot and the engine shut off. I pulled into a stall shut it off and restarted and it drove fine. No warning lights appeared

Sometimes a little water in the gas can cause vapour lock & stalling. Put a little methyl hydrate( clean flow) in the gas. Also never fill up when you see a tanker at the service station filling station storage tanks. This tends to stir any dirt & water up into the gas & you get their problem. Good luck!

2003 Dodge Neon SXT. Car ran out of fuel...put 5 gallons of gas in...car won't start, even after jumping. Advice?

One thing to try is to swap out the fuel filter, as it might have sucked up some gunk out of the bottom of your tank when you ran it dry.

2003 hyuandi accent - i have trouble putting gas in the gas tank . It will only put in a little at a time as the gas pump will continue to shut off.

hi from uk make sure you push pump nozzle fully in tank filler as there is a flap just below filler that has to be opened fully to allow fuel to flow unrestricted ?? also considering age of vehicle ? check under the wheel arch along side of fuel filler pipe you will see a hose attached alongside ? make sure this is not kinked or blocked up at its lower end this hose is the ventilation for fuel tank ie as you put fuel into tank you also displace air from tank there for if air vent is blocked ? fuel will be restricted fro flowing hence pump shuts off ? the pipe vent is subjected to dirt from roadway and rain spray due to its location and usually blockage is with hardened mud over time ? hope this helps ? best wishes from n/west uk

Help w 1994 chevrolet truck

This injector set-up needs a specific fuel pressure supplied to the fuel rail to even start, much less run properly. The fuel pump is immersed in fuel inside the gas tank to keep it cool and not burn up. Running the fuel level low causes more heat in the pump and interuptions in proper fuel pressure. AC/Delco pumps have proven to be a reliable fix, the aftermarket pumps only last for a month or two sometimes. Check fuel pressure under the hood and power and ground to fuel pump at electrical harness at top of gas tank. This truck needs a fuel pump.
