No, the switch is in the off position, and there is no delay. I bought this car brand new in 05, this never happened before but thanks.

Thanks Ken, I was hoping to try to fix it myself or local because the nearest dealer is about 80 miles away. .

the source of the lights turning on is the switch, if they won't turn off , it must be the switch. this only makes good sence to me. one would replace the switch if it didn't turn on, well, same differance . don't you agree ? a blown fuse is not even something that I would consider. nothing else turns the lights off, except the switch. thats my answer, final answer. good luck, KEN

SOURCE: Gauges,Radio, wipers and headlight won't work.

Sounds like you have at least one blown fuse. Check the fuse panel, It's on the driver's kick panel next to the dead pedal (where you rest your left foot) to the left. of the clutch. The cover for the fuse panel faces the center of the car.

Here is a picture of a good and blown fuse:

Batter's good if lights work. No clicking usually means the starter is bad. Unfortunately, it's a push it or two it to the mechanic.

2002 Grand Marquis headlights won't turn off with switch, won't go out until vehicle is turned off

Might these be "driving lights"?
Cars with "driving lights" have lights that are supposed to stay on all the time the engine is running.
These lights not only look like headlights, in fact some cars even have the headlights themselves come on when the engine is running. Look as some more (several) 2002 Grand Marquis's and see if they are the same.
Be blessed.

It won't turn over

Try this procedure:
Check the battery like this:
Turn on the headlights, then try to start the car.
If the headlights do not dim or go out, then the battery is likely ok.
Check that the battery cable plus post, goes to the starter, Minus post to a good ground, like the engine.
If wiring is ok, then look at the starter solenoid for a good connection, and proper voltage at the starter.
Problem is most likely the Solenoid's bendix gear or starting relay, Have someone bang on the starter while you try to start the car. This usually works by dislodging the bendix gear..
Hope this helps.

1994 gmc jimmy headlights wont turn on

go to an accredited auto electrician for electrical work
it may be a switch problem but I think that there is no power to the light relays ( switch or fuses)
if that model has a light control module , it could be that

My 1990 honda civic hatchback wont start...

It could be a problem with either starter if it won't turn over, the wiring to the starter, or it could be related to the fuel or spark delivery when turning over if the starter does turn the engine over.
