Question about 1998 Dodge Stratus
I am testing the automatic shutdown relay to insure proper PDC operation. I verified terminal 30 of the relay has voltage present at all times. According to my Haynes manual the next step is to check terminal 86, where I should have voltage present only when the ignition is in ON position, well I have voltage present all the time. What kind of problems, if any, would this cause? I am currently having a problem with the car not starting, it cranks over but won't start.
Getting fuel? getting spark ? what shape are spark plugs, plug wires could be shorting out if old. plug wires need to be in good condition, and they must be kept isolated from one another, not laying on top of each other, lot of power running threw them, can short each other out, not good. try all this, see where it gets ya

Sound like your timing belt might have broke, take the plastic cover off from the top to check it,or maybe your fuel pump is bad

timing these new motors today are difficult, your timing may still be off. You'll need to get a timing gun. Also did you make sure that the motor was Top Dead Center(TDC).

SOURCE: I have changed the timing belt on a 99 Dodge Stratus with a 2.4 liter engine. All timing marks are aligned properly according to Haynes diagram and the engine will still not start. It tries to start
INFO:99 Dodge Stratus-
I've had crank sensor malfunction twice in as few as 4 months. This time I determined that the frayed belt, abused sensor, perhaps it was frayed first time around and missed it I don't know? Maybe this helps the next guy.
