Question about 1993 Chevrolet Cavalier
My 2&5 - 3&6 coil packs are firing but not my 1&4 all new plugs, new coil pack engine light flashing, running rough and missing.
I bet it is the ignition module, have it tested at oreillys or autozone, it is what the coils bolt to, common failure, or possibly a crank sensor

did you replace only one spark plug? that can cause issues because of differences in resistances between cylinders. also, did the map code stay off after replacing

Try the ignition module. This is more than likely your problem. It is on the coil pack where the wires connect to.I have had a few of these go on me.This should take care of your problem.Hope this helps.Good luck.

IF YOU GETTING OIL AROUND COIL PACK.MORE LIKELY YOUR PVC VALVE CLOGGED. ITS ALLOWING CRANKCASES PRESSURE BUILD UP CAUSING OIL TO BE PUSHED BACK UP IN THE PVC.OR COMPRESSION RINGS WORN TO A EXTENT THAT THE CRANKCASE IS OVER PRESSURIZED. FORCING OIL THROUGH THE PVC VALVE.YOU HAVE A PVC VALVE NEAR THE COIL AREA.THAT COULD BE WHERE OIL IS COMING FROM.
