Question about 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited
When I have the rear door (trunk) closed the light on the instrument panel stays on and so do the two lights in the trunk space. I have taken apart the door and when I mess with the switch the lights get brighter/dimmer as I mess with it, but never fully go out. I even tried disconnecting the connector from the lock mechanism hoping that would work with no luck. Do I need to jumper the plug to make it think it's always closed or try to replace the entire lock mechanism? I'm lost.

if it is still under warranty, take it back to them, tell them to fix it right this time, and yes you can reset only if you have a handheld device to plug into you car, still doesn't solve the problem though,"TAKE IT BACK"

Should be just snap on ands of if you break one you should be able to pick it up at any auto parts store. First remove the door handle and if necessary the electric window switch and snap the panel off. Next you will need a flash light and a pair of needle nosed pliers because unless you have small hands you won't be able to reach it. Owe yeah, be prepared to tear through the plastic behind the panel to access the handle. You may also try to pull ut off from a corner to see if you can remove it without destroying iy.
