I have a rover 45 2002 and cannot put car into gear when engine running. got told it was slave cyclinder but wasn't, any ideas??

try to bleed the system, if you have presure the clutch master cylinder is ok, but if the slave cylinder retracts by it self after holding the pedal , the slave is the problem, the slave is on the transmission, pushes the fork, the master is at the pedal where you apply the force.

Clutch pedal stay on floor

Did you bleed the clutch once you had changed the slave cylinder? If not you will need to do this to get any pedal.

I have in my range rover 1996 year a clutch proble the pedal is down and dont come up self what to do

hi there are three possabilities to this one there could be a leak of fluid to the clutch master or slave cylinder check the footwel drivers side for a damp carpet or underneath the car for for any new leaks check the fluid level of your brakes and clutch as the resovoirs are often shared ,initially try topping the level up and bleeding the air from the slave cylinder near the gearbox to engine bell housing area and see if that improves things
Or a common fault with land rovers is the clutch fork may have snapped which requires the either engine or gearbox removal to replace the fork with a new one
Or the clutch thrust bearing has worn it way through the fingers of the clutch diaphragm and dropped through which also requires engine or gearbox removal to replace the clutch
good luck hope its only the minor problem

Jeep wont go drive forward or reverse

Either the clutch or torque converter, most likely the torque converter, also check the gearbox fluid level and slave cylinder.

Slave cylinder is it on inside of gear box or outside TDi 4

2001 reg the slave cylinder is inside the bell housing of the gearbox which means the gearbox needs to be removed not an easy diy job
