SOURCE: location of radiator tank drain 2005 dodge caravan

The drain is located on the passenger side of the radiator at the bottom. Turn it counterclockwise to open. It is plastic so be careful if you decide to use tools to turn.

SOURCE: Dodge 2000 minivan, water pump leaking

Make sure it's cool, pop the radiator cap, Remove the shield on the passenger side between the tire and front of engine. Relieve the tension on the serp belt, draw yourself a diagram of the pulleys and belt routing in case the sticker is gone on the strut tower, remove the serp belt. Take the bolts out of the pulley on the front of the water pump (3). Remove the lower radiator hose at the front cover to drain the coolant. Remove the 6 mm bolts holding the water pump to the front cover housing. tap on the pump with a rubber hammer. Install a new gasket on the new pump, and a weap hole diverter in the pump (round black about hte size of a quarter), use old one if there's no new one. Install pupm and tighten bolts snug with a 1/4" ratchet. Install pulley and 3 bolts. Install belt, top off radiator with 50/50 mix green coolant. start engine and run to operating temperature, make sure the belt is seated in all of the pulleys and is running true, radiator fans should come on. Shut engine down and let cool overnight. Check level in radiator and overflow bottle, top off as necessary.

Coolat leak

Hopefully this is a slow leak...:) Did you notice coolant on the ground? Have you checked your coolant overflow tank to verify leak down? Most of the time if your car is still runnable, you can trace a coolant leak to the source...might be the upper or lower radiator hoses or connections...might be the radiator itself...might be a worn out water pump...could also be heater hose or heater core...lets hope for one of the simple ones...:)

My Actron 9575 says my '98 Grand Caravan is operating at 212 degrees. Is this a normal temp for a 3.3 (G) engine?

running temp is 195f so if it reads 212f I think thats OK. make sure the fan is operational above 220f or a/c is on. As long as its not overheating, pushing coolant out to the recovery tank, its OK. there was a computer update (reflash) for these vans. Campaign number 771

Engine running hot and heater blowing cold air

Sounds like you are low on coolant. May be full in bottle but empty in Radiator. Make sure you check when cold. Possible waterpump leak or if you have rear heat, the coolant tubes to the rear

Should the overflow tank have an opening for releasing the water or should all of them be plugged up.

the coolant recovery tank will have an opening to expell any extra coolant that the system does not need. if u over fill the tank and the radiator is full the extra coolant will expell itself when the engine heats up. hope this will help!!!

Is it low in water? You have a heater control valve on that side . Your heater hoses connects to it to let hot water in the car when the heater is turned on. Check and make sure the passenger floor is dry. If it is wet you will need a heater core

Heater blowing clod air

the heater core behind the dash may be bad, it is the coolant tank for the heater system that is to say it is where the heat comes from. kinda pricey to have repaired at a dealership, if you can hear the fan turning but no heat, than it is a good possibility, or a vent hose has fallen off, get down and check under the dash
