Question about 1988 Toyota Pickup
I usually use 10-30w oil
Posted on Mar 14, 2012
From the Mobil Oil website, all four versions of the 1988 Toyota 4 Runner selected below came back with a recommendation of 10W30 oil. If y the owner's manual came with the car, it should be in there.
From www.mobiloil.com
What's the right oil for my car?

Check underneath the hood it should tell the weight of oil your truck uses but if you live in a very cold climate I would use 5-30 in the winter and 10-30 in the summer and NAPA oil is the same as valvaline but a lot cheaper
