Flush radiator

To flush your radiator. Find where the two hoses go into the firewall in your engine compartment and disconnect them.Next, take off your radiator cap and open the drain valve located on the bottom left side of you radiator.Using a garden hose with a sprayer attachment, spray water into one of the hoses from off of your firewall. This will flush out your entire system till the water comes out clear. If you want to flush out your heater core do the same thing into the hose connections for the heater core.

If there is one, look at the lower part of the radiator on left side as you face the vehicle. Out of all the vehicle I own only 1 has a drain valve on it and most of the time it is clogged from road splash and dust. You can remove the lower radiator hose either from the Radiator or the engine to drain the radiator.

I have a 1996 saturn coupe i just replaced the radiator and radiator cap and it is still overheating whys that

Several reasons. Chances are you need the radiator rodded. Or it could be a blown head gasket. Try starting the vehicle cold when the cap is off. if it spews like a geiser then it is highly possible blown head gasket

Engine coolant light turns on but no aparant reasons why engine coolant level ok rad was flushed 2 months ago coolant temp gauge doesnt go past half way hot and cold air availabe in the cab

the coolant level sensor is malfunctioning. this should be either on the resevoir or screwed into the side of the radiator. inspect to see if there is one in the resevoir. if so, disconnect it and turn the vehicle on to see if the light goes out. if so replace it. if it is in the radiator, replace it. ther eare no "fixes" for these items.

How do i unclog the radiator on a 1998 Saturn sl?

Your car's radiator and cooling system needs to be clean to be cool. As time goes on, your car's radiator builds solid deposits that can clog the cooling system. A quick, inexpensive radiator flush which can be purchased at any reputable store (Autozone, Nappa, etc.) can keep the system in shape. It's important to change your antifreeze seasonally. Before you start your radiator flush, make sure you have everything you need. There's nothing worse than draining your radiator only to realize that you need to drive to the auto store for something! Make sure to clear up clogs or you may soon clog up your thermostat, water pump causing your car to overheat and/or heater core leaving you cold in the winter.
What you'll need to perform a radiator flush:

  • Phillips head screwdriver or wrench (whichever your radiator drain requires)
  • Cloth rag
  • Radiator Flush solution
  • Coolant
  • Funnel
  • Used coolant receptacle
*Be sure to let your engine cool completely before you loosen or remove the radiator cap. Hot coolant can be painful!
I hope this helps and good luck. Please vote and leave a message.

How do i fix a clogged radiator?

The best route is to take it to Jiffy Lube or similar garage and have the radiator flushed. Another route to take is remove the radiator and take it to a radiator shop and have them do it. Either are about the same cost.

1996 Saturn auto trans will not shift into 4th

Check your transmission fluid. If it is bright almost pinkish-red then it is not the transmission. If it is dark red or brown then you need to either get a flush done or replace your transmission depending on the severity.
