Question about Ford Cars & Trucks
I hear the fuel pump but starer won't crank
There's probably a switch that requires the clutch to be depressed before voltage is applied to the starter. It may need adjusting after the clutch replacement or even disconnected.

If it has fuel pressure at the fuel rail then it is more than likely the computer. You can unscrew the cap on the rail and push the center in with a knife or something and there should be fuel that sprays out. If not then you are not getting fuel to that point.

Go under the dash and bypass the clutch pedal safety switch and see if it starts.

Most Fords have a fuel reset button. When you ran out of gas you tripped the circuit. Most of the time the button will be on the passenger side by the kick panel. The exact location should be in your owners manual or your local library or auto parts store will have a copy of one for your specific vehicle.
