In limp mode cant get out 96 dodge avenger ES V6

Well the problem is i think it's stuck in limp mode though whent he problem first happened i could floor it and it would shift up to fourth and once the speedometer went back down to 45 or 40 it's would immediately down shift into "limp" mode i'm assuming. Now the problem arose right after i replaced the car battery so i assumed it was electrical. I took it down to autozone had it scanned for codes, and it didnt throw any codes whatsoever. Now I cant get it to shift up at all and am permanantley stuck driving in limp gear. Please help

Change your speedometer sensors, one might be bad, but change both to be sure, then reset computer. To get transmission out of safe mode. Check and be sure your transmission fluid is ok while car is running and on flat ground. If low be sure to use right fluid, wrong fluid can cost you a transmission

Where is the egr located on a 1997 dodge avenger es with a 2.5L V6

The egr itself is on the backside of the engine closest to the firewall towards the driver side. You have to lean past the intake to get to it. The resonator is about 4-5" to the left (passenger side) of it.

I have a 2000 dodge avenger es 2.5 v6 and the check engine light came on so i took it to get it tested and it turned out to be a faulty or bad egr valve. What could the problem be? How much would it c

I found your part on Kragen's website and it runs about 100 dollars. The staff in your local store should be able to help guide you in changing it out and may even help you accomplish the task. Pep Boys, Napa Auto Parts, etc. should most likely have the part and the same customer service to help you. Check around though as the prices will most often close to each other can be quite different from time to time.

98 dodge avenger transmission problem

codes will verify if it needs to be pulled out. More than likely it will as the electronics are rarely the problem. The computer senses a indifference in the ratio between the sensors so it locks it in limp mode - 2nd gear.

98 dodge avenger 604 tranmission will not shift out of 2nd gear

When something happens to the tranny, it is programed to shift no higher than second gear and they call it limp-mode.You may be able to get the generic trouble codes and get an idea or you can go to a dealer or a parts store and have them check for codes. The code will tell you what is wrong
