SOURCE: 1991 Volvo Sedan stopped while driving

If it is the alternator, you will have a dead battery too. Have you charged the battery to see if it will allow you to get to a parts store and have the charging system tested? I would do to that before tearing into the alternator and spending the big bucks. Taking the alternator out is not a big deal, two bolts to loosen and the wires in the back to unhook - after you take the ( -) wire off the battery. Keep the wire connections straight for hooking up later. To get the alternator belt loose, you will need to loosen the adjustment screw until the belt can be pulled off the pulley. Good luck

SOURCE: Radio and Sunroof both stopped working at same time. Fuses in 3 locations all seem to be good.

Not positive it is the same thing, however, when setting up my iPOD adapter to the radio, I made the mistake of not following the instructions to the T, and it caused my sunroof to stop working... after a day (which I later found out gave the system enough time to "reset" and connect), I turned on my stereo, pushed the 3CH to Dolby Surround, and that did the trick. It's been about a year... and I've had no problems with the sunroof!

My wipers will not turn off on 02 Volvo S80

If that's the original wiper motor (and not some replacement motor that might not work right in that car), find the wiper motor. Now find a replacement motor and swap it out.

Inside the wiper motor is an automatic "park" circuit; one wire feeds power to the motor at all times. The park circuit in that motor can't detect when it's parked, so it keeps trying.

I have a 2001 volvo s80 and the Electronic Climate Control board with the blower knobs, heated seat buttons, and temp control has quit working but all of the fuses are good

I had the same problem with my 2001 s80 my battery went dead and it just stopped working me and a friend looked at every fuse even all of the relays and the relays under the fuse box in the engine compartment but to do that you have to remove the battery terminals so when we were finished checking everything we connected the terminal and started the car and everything was back on I'm assuming that the computer or something needed to be reset.

In my 2000 volvo s80, the radio stop working and the door lock button and the dome lights are intermittent. I checked all the fuses and are all good.

Try resetting the electrical system by locking and unlocking the doors with your key in the driver's door 5 times in a row. A service manager at a Volvo dealer showed me this after they did some work on my car and on the way home the sunroof wouldn't close.

I have a 2001 S80 that I have to reset the electrical system like this every time I disconnect the battery. All kinds of stuff stops working...sun roof, door locks, lights, radio, windows, etc. Just reset like described and everything should start working again.

Good luck.
